We’re excited to welcome another fan-favorite creature from [color=#f4cd4f]Garuga123’s ARK: Additions[/color] into the official world of ARK: Survival Ascended. Each new arrival brings its own unique twist to survival, and the Concavenator is no exception. Fast, agile, and always ready to steal the spotlight, this desert specialist is unlike anything else roaming the ARK.

Beneath the sands, the Concavenator turns the desert into its playground. It swims across the dunes with astonishing speed, launching itself skyward in spectacular aerial tricks to gain an advantage on its prey. Alone, it is an elusive nuisance, but in a coordinated pack, it can quickly turn into a nightmare, circling prey, kicking up choking clouds of sand, and striking from unexpected angles.

Whether you are gliding through the shifting sands or commanding a pack of high-flyers, this creature demonstrates that finesse and coordination are just as lethal as raw strength.

Since Genesis Part 1 launched, we’ve continued monitoring activity and capacity across the Official Network to identify where additional support would be most useful. Today, we brought another small batch of Official Genesis Part 1 servers online, including a mix of EU and NA servers, along with a few Oceanic Small Tribes servers.

These additions give players more opportunities to jump in and find a place to play as activity settles across the initial rollout. We’ll continue monitoring server populations and capacity to determine whether additional servers are needed.

Please note that some of these new servers are [color=#3498db]Expire servers[/color].

[color=#3498db]Expire servers[/color] are temporary Official servers that can be found by searching for "Expire" in the session filter. These servers will remain online until 10:00 AM PT / 1:00 PM ET on September 19, 2026.

We're temporarily using server capacity allocated for future maps to provide additional Genesis Part 1 sessions where players can tame creatures, gather resources, and experience the newest content. The same transfer restrictions apply: you may download your character onto these servers, and you are free to transfer items, creatures, and characters off them at any time. These servers are intended to help ease population pressure on the primary network while giving players another option to enjoy the new content.

Please remember that [color=#3498db]these servers will be permanently removed at 10:00 AM PT / 1:00 PM ET on September 19, 2026[/color]. If you choose to play on an Expire server, make sure you transfer your characters, creatures, and items off before that time, as any remaining data will be permanently lost.

Conquest focuses on large-scale PvP, with increased rates, and other changes listed below. The increased rates will allow tribes to set up and establish themselves quickly and enable them to rebuild after potential losses instead of being wiped completely.

The official Conquest servers are [color=#3498db]open for PC, Xbox and PlayStation[/color].

Conquest Season 8 details:
- Total of 18 maps, all Genesis Part 1
  - Cluster A: 12 servers that had transfers enabled with Classic before they shut down.
  - Cluster B: 6 servers with transfers only enabled between those 6 servers for 2 weeks. Transfers between Cluster A and Cluster B will open on July 17th at 10 AM PT.
- 5x Rates
- Tek is enabled with the exception of:
  - Tek Grenade
  - Tapejara Tek Saddle
  - Megalodon Tek Saddle
  - Rock Drake Tek Saddle
  - Mosasur Tek Saddle
  - Tek Railgun
  - Map: all 18 maps will become Genesis Part 1

Early Access Review

I play it for the memories of a game that once existed called ARK Survival Evolved. This game does combine some ATLAS game features into Genesis I ocean biome which is cool, but not so well done. Remember that with time some things do not get better, but you still love them. My dinosaurs need me to take care of them in a world full of evil monsters.

Ark will always be one of those games that i come back to despite how awful it is currently being treated by its publisher and devs. There is honestly just something so incredibly satisfying about the way the game plays. Maybe its just the child in me drooling over the dinosaurs... But the real question is, is it still worth playing? Personally, i think so; this doesn't mean it doesn't come without its share of problems though.

For those who haven't played Ark before; the Survival Ascended variant is simply just a prettier and better version of the original 2017 Survival Evolved game. It also comes with all the optional map add-ons that arguably cost too much. But regardless of my feelings on its monetization and quality of "DLC" maps, Ark is still a great buy for anyone looking for a Dino survival game.

Like many of the survival/crafting games of the genre, Ark will dump players into a relatively unforgiving world that will require players to start fighting to survive nearly immediately. From there, there is actually a really nice flow of technological progression that makes advancement feel like more than just an increase in stats. Your dinosaurs and what is available to you will also progressively get better. Most of the dinosaurs in the game can be tamed and ridden should you have the appropriate saddle unlocked. The games progression will also take you to a variety of monster-filled caves to acquire artifacts that will be used to summon three challenging bosses. These fights will require you to be extremely prepared as it is extremely punishing to lose in one of these encounters. Not only will you lose any armor, weapons, and ammo you had equipped, but potentially several hours of gathering and crafting. you’ll also lose the artifacts needed to summon the boss, forcing you to replay those challenging caves all over again.

The biggest drag about the games progression cycle is simply the grind for resources and new gear. However, this can be easily mitigated with players simply toying with the world setting from the menu. Be warned though, Ark is a LONG game, even with the changes you can make to the settings.

Ark also has quite an interesting narrative flourish; defeating all three bosses unlocks an endgame dungeon that reveals a surprising amount of backstory behind the ARKs and their purpose. I personally found it quite interesting and it honestly only increased the hype I have for Ark 2. if the game ever comes out.... The game also has array of "Explorers Notes" collectibles that expand on the games story and atmosphere.

If I ignore the crappy monetization, Ark is genuinely good game that I would recommend to anyone who likes survival games. It has a good array of maps for people to play, some of which are much better than others. I don't know about you, but I will always find riding ridding a T-Rex or Sniping something from a flying mount enjoyable.

PSA: I've beaten the game several times on console, hence the low play time at time of review.

Verdict: 7.5/10 (Good)
