Report a translation problem
I know some text base languages are in the game. But voice is another issue that not there.
I typed something in Japanese in the game. It seem to understand and reply with no voice. Then I ask it to translate what it said. But I don't see it using a mixture of languages at the same time.
I notice it depends on the trait you pick for the AI that effects learning or doing other languages.
Is that when you start with English and ask it to translate/speak another language from the default English, or does it do that when you choose a different language? (I'm assuming you can choose different languages since it says full voice support for Spanish)
I want to say the AI could may handle Saxon languages better as it closer to English. I know their Japanese program for the fan-base for the game.
Yes the game has voice support, but I feel it lacks any advance setting to fine tune for capture voice.
That's the thing that confuses me. It says this on the store page
"
Interface (Full and Audio)
English ✔ ✔
Spanish - Spain ✔ ✔
Japanese ✔ ✔
Simplified Chinese ✔ ✔
"
But if I change the language in the settings, it only changes the text font (if I pick Japanese, everything is in Japanese) how can I put it to only the AI speaks in Japanese while everything else stays in English for me (when they speak, it'll be in Japanese but I can see everything that is being said in the chat/dialogue box)
How do I change the audio language?
How do I change the audio language? I don't think you can; only ask AI to do it.
You definitely need to fix your reply/quote lol you are making it seem like what you wrote is what I said lol
Ah, so you can't change the language audio? why put "Audio" when showing the languages? I can't find a clear answer to this.
So, I have to ask the girls to change their speaking language? makes no sense lol.
It should be in the settings under "language" since it would be too annoying to constantly have to repeat "Talk/Speak to me in Japanese" every single time I start a game.
Two sections should be added in the settings, Language Text and Language Audio.
I mean, I did that too with "Japanese" but since it changes all the text in the game to Japanese, I didn't want to enter the game with the text like that since I don't know Japanese!
That's why I think there should be two Audio options because instead of just changing the Audio, it changes more than that. Thank you for doing a quick test for me :) you are awesome!
At least now I know it works lol they just need to fix the text changing. I don't mind if the AIs speak whatever, so long as what they are saying is in English subtitles/in the chat/dialogue box.
Thank you again!
I did some testing with Eddie since I'm more familiar with household vocabulary than space station and witchcraft vocab, and since she's more social. I also tried to pick personality tags that would lead to laid back conversation and less likely to get me killed randomly.
I had a language learning hobby tag drop. Haven't played around with it enough to know how useful it is, but she does lead you to some prompts related to learning a second language.
Having her interact in Spanish when in English works well for reading, but the voice translates it terribly. I found it works well to ask her to repeat what she said in the second language, but asking her to say both tends to have her translate the first part only and the second part is all in English (might be preferable the newer you are to the language)
It worked really well switching the language to Spanish, and having her clarify the phrases in English (the Spanish voice does a better job of speaking English than the English voice of speaking Spanish). When I would get stuck on an answer I would tell her I don't know how to say it in Spanish, but in English the answer is XYZ, and that worked flawlessly.
It will be fund to learn what personality and speaking combinations work best for turning, and whether the other AI voices are have different/easier accents for leaning (Eddie was pretty good).
I also had a very long conversation with her about a movie in Spanish (easy topic to figure out new vocab base out of the context if you talk about a movie you already know).
Overall, it's been an extremely good experience as a language learning tool.
