How do I remove a bridge

I'm having a lot of trouble removing bridges. I've clicked on the line and dragged to a station, which removes the station from the line. But then the game just finds another station to connect to the bridge.

How do I remove a bridge?

EDIT: I've just been trying it over and over. Sometimes the bridge gets removed, but sometimes it just moves the bridge to another station. There may be some factor that makes a difference, but if there is I haven't figured out what it is.

(Totally unrelated: is there any disadvantage to running parallel lines?

1st it all depends on the stations you are connected to. if you remove a part in the middle of a line, the path gets adjusted to the actual station.

however you also can fiddle some of those path around to save a bridge.

the station within the parallel line have higher frequency, while the station of the outer lines get a lower frequency of trains. This might lead to overcrowded station there.

so if you have sth like this

1-2-3\
       7-8-9
4-5-6/
you might do 1 line 1-2-3-7
and the 2 line 4-5-6-7-8-9


however it can still be a good idea to make paralelle lines, if you cover some special stations (like stars, half moons, cross) with the double lines.

also if you dont do seperate lines you have a transfer station, that might get crowded.

so no defintive answer, in some situation its a good idea, in other situations it migth be a bad idea.

Easiest way for me is just to redo the entire line.

Parallel lines may or may not be good. They are good when you need the capacity in a section. They are bad when you need capacity elsewhere, with the parallel section robbing capacity that could be used elsewhere.
