The Berlin map

After a goal to reach top 5% on every map - my second goal has been to reach top rank 1000 on every map. Berlin seems to be my hardest nut to crack on this ambition (Im not even mentioning Cairo..) My PR score is around 1350 (rank 3800) and I CANNOT manage to improve it =)
If the stats are true Ive played this map for 16hours and thoose last weeks Ive never been over a score of 1100.

I have tried to reestart until I have the square on the very left - earlier I always wanted the square on the very right. Dont know if the very left is the best tactic but I had to try something.. =)
If anyone is very comforted with this berlin map - I would love all the tips I can get for it. A youtube recoring would be super duper =)

For thoose who dont know the problems with Berlin: A million of difrent symbols that makes it very hard to make "short and fast travels". Feels like almost 20% of the passengers (a litte overcalculated but its what it feels) are destined to go to one single station only (like hospital or bath) - This makes it VERY hard to not end up in longroute travels that fills up the trainwagons passengerseats for longer time than wanted..

But as first questions:
1. Aim for square at the most left or right?
2. Circle route with two or three bridges?

Sometimes I aim for a circleroute, 3 bridges and add up a expressline between square and the exotix symbols that always end up on the faar down left.. =)

Sometimes I only go for 2 circleroutes without bridges and go A-to-B lines over waters.

Ofcourse every map and situation is unique - but when Im quite faar from succeding on this map Im also open for any general tips that can solve the Berlin problems. Im sure any simple tip would be useful - and a videorecord with a score around 1500 would be top of the line. =)

And Berlin is not my last map for theese top 1000 rank - but it feels like the one I have no real chance to reach by just keep trying. - "I hate Berlin" makes no sense! I love that city =)

As a adup to my questions: Recomended promotions in the early weeks =)
Aim for a certain number of lines or go wagon whenever you can?
Desired number of bridges to make a highscore?

On other maps I have had a clear set goal of both brides and a number of lines before I go "wagons first" =)

I can't provide a video, but maybe some screenshots could be helpful? To summarize the basic idea, you don't want to connect every single station, but you wan't rather go though micro management hell. Use four to five lines to build a strong central network and connect each symbol at least once. Use temporary lines to connect unconnected stations or to remove stress from overcrowded stations.
Try to get two to three additional tunnels and every line as soon as possible. Waggons can support your stationary lines. In the following screenshots I tried to maintain "The Grey Lokomotive"-Achievement as long as possible (3559 passengers), but more trains on your main lines should ease the task.

Yeah, doing what Myxocon says will get you loads of points. But using one or two permanent lines is better than using four to five. This video demonstrates that strategy (for another map):

It obviously doesn't look as pretty as normal mode maps. But maybe it could help you. I don't know.
