90% of my runs end in circle satitation
Is there any way to handle large areas with *only* circles?

If there's a non-circle past all of the circles, then at least the trains can pick up passengers going both ways, but that's rarely the case. Most runs end when there are more massive circle clumps than there are lines / locomotives / carriages to alleviate all that pressure.

I try to put some more lines through forests of circles just to support the one line that goes through it all. I also constantly relocate trains to stations who are in need. I don't really have the golden tip, but that's what I've gathered for the same issue.

"circle" is the only viable strategy in this game with a Square as the interchange station for all circles.
Blame the sprawl. :P

(I interpret circles and triangles to be residential and business areas, respectively.)

Depends on the map. Sometimes it's better to have a small circular track with the square on it and multiple trains, then have multiple other lines connecting into points on that small circle.

don't have too many lines connect to the same circle station. you might think it'd increase bandwidth, but remember the trips gets longer.

ditto triangles to a certain extent

I only bought the game a few days ago, and I'm definitely loving it, however, it seems to me that the difficulty almost solely depends upon the scenario you describe... in other words, if the overall station distribution is equal numbers of circles, squares and triangles, then the game will go easy and you will make a high score. But if the game keeps placing the same station over and over again (so you have some lines with 12 circles but no triangles and squares), then this will be a difficult game, and it will be a low-score game, not a high-score game.

But as I said, I haven't owned the game for very long, so these are my initial impressions which could be wrong of course. But that's what it seems like to me - the game difficulty entirely depends on which stations the game gives you.

Edit: Having played for another day, it seems like the distribution of stations is pretty constant: there will always be a ton of circles, fewer triangles, and perhaps as few as only 2 squares per map? So I guess the difficulty varies solely based on the squares? Let's say you get a map where you have 2 of each station type very early... this will be an easier map because there are numerous layout options. Conversely, it seems like most maps only give you one square to work with for most of the game... so those are harder maps because all the lines need to touch that solitary square somehow, or else passengers are going to have to switch lines to get there, which causes overcrowding problems earlier than usual.

was just playing a game were I had over 10 circles all next to each other about 3 triangles and 1 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ square.

Its like the game said "Oh you want to just chill and relax? well let me pour salt directly into your eyes and ♥♥♥♥ you out of any enjoyment"

Dervish, there's Endless mode for that. :y

Yeah it sucks, I just had 9 circles on the edge of the map with only about 300 passengers transported. You get 1 square and everyone wants to go to the bloody square. Or other shapes just fill up. The randomised stations don't seem random enough, they deliberately made it so circles are far more common. They have to make one shape like that but I think they were overzealous with it. I once got lucky with about 5 squares....even then everyone wants to go there and the circles just pile up.

Still though, I avoid endless mode as that removes challenge all together.

I know this is an old chat but I needed to vent. I love a challenge but the number of circles all in the same area is just ridiculous.
