Free players have an innate disadvantage.
You are still able to play the game and enjoy yourself, especially if you have a lot of friends to help you out.
I have over 1000 hours in the game and most of it was spent as a free player.
If you have the money to subscribe, it is a lot more fun.

It's a 100x better than having it only P2P, idc what anybody says.
For a game that's as niche as this is (and rough around the edges), being able to play F2P is perfect.
It's definitely worth playing F2P, as there's quite a lot you can do, and quite a lot you *need* to do as a new player anyway. I intend to sub to it this week, soon as I get paid. Glad I decided to give it another chance. It's definitely not "for everyone", but it's right up my alley.
It is not "pay to win"... it is a subscription based game. The free to play is nothing more than a limited trial.
This is literally the 100% truth. The remaining core players of this dying game are mostly set to the same mindset. I myself tried to give it a good chance at being one of my casual plays. However, after around 5 hours of grinding out my knowledge of the basics I could not even get tot he graveyard (first nub farm area) without guys like this one killing me and stealing my starter gather tools, my bow/arrows, starter 1h. This happened 4x's in a matter of an hour.
I aslo noticed asking for information on the basics in the Help channel in game is pointless, they will simply tell you to google everything, and most times the answer was very simple. I have been gaming for a long lol, 1993 was my first experiences on online play. I have noticed the gamers I grew up with and the current hipster/poser/troll "gamers" that saturate most online titles now are worlds apart.
Instead of trying again, I simply wrote a warning review for those players who would want to give this title a chance. TBH I enjoyed the game play. I could not continue the enjoyment of learning it simply because of the massive need on the part of vet players and sub player to kill new players.
RIP Mortal Online - Your days are numbered via the toxic community that lingers.
Invalid thought here. I can't stress enough how much forced pvp you will endure as a f2p new player. If your like me and enjoy delving into skills and getting them farmed up you will most likely not appreciate losing your tools and only weapons around 4-5 times in an hour, due to "pvp" + new player focused trolls out there. I was even killed in the street of the starter city for no other reason than "To feel nooby blood on my blade." I mean I could understand if they gave you a week of protection from pk, but in the 5 hours I played I was killed by players 5 times. That's hefty when you have to think about the FULL LOOT on death aspect. And no it does not matter if they are rich and have amazing gear they take all your loot and prolly throw it in the trash ahaha. Anyways yeano.
