Does joy2key support analog style inputs... I used joy2key a while back to try to get joystick working in another game to no satifactory results.
This is more of a band-aide solution.
Agreed. The joystick inputs are convertered to keyboard outputs. So no analog type signalling. However, it does let me play old keyboard only games and Timeshock with a controller right now. I welcome native controller support when they can make it available. Real soon now...
Well to me. Ultra means an upgrade.. not the same thing made to work on current machines..
Joystick support *needs* to be intergrated.. as I"ve not picked it up since I found out it was JUST like my other copy on my bookshelf from the year of the flood.
Hopefully it is added soon so I can enjoy it.
In this day in age of steam OS, we should not have to settle for extraneous controller add-ons (which have malware on them, BTW) just to play games on steam. That's why I quit GoG-great selection of classic computer games but no default controller support. For PP, between the lack of controller support, tiny screen view (and only one at that) and no achievements, I think Barnstorm brought this game to steam at least a decade too early. Which is a shame because it looks so freakin' sweet.
Hopefully I live to see Big Race USA and Fantastic Journey released as well. I'm not holding my breath.
Wow, I guess I should have researched this for controller support before purchasing. I guess thats what I get for assuming... Too bad, I was looking foward to playing this! It was great many years ago last time I played. Im hoping you guys get on this one.
Perhaps he could enable the "experimental" controller input for users in a beta branch.. ?
Barnstorm Games, please get your a**** into gear and patch controller support into your game already. Nobody wants to play on a bloody keyboard like some pleb from a bygone era. Timeshock! has the best physics and the best graphics of any pin to ever be released on a computer to date, so take the extra step of bringing the control scheme beyond MS Windows Pinball '95 ;).
A possible last tiny point to maybe complain about is that the pause menu still can't be used with the controller and still requires the mouse. But that doesn't bother me much at all as long the in-game controls are working fine.
