So i tried these settings as well as turning off steam overlay and was able to play for a little bit but it hard crashed and froze my whole computer this time instead of giving me the error code.....
GTX 1070 8GB founder's edition
Ryzen 5 4600G
24GB DDR4 Ram
Windows 11 Home 23H2
Have not had any issues with starting and running the game yet, no crashes either
I have visual c++ 2013 (x64) and (x86). It still crashes randomly during games.
For me, this way of doing things allows me to play without crashing.
1. Download and install the 2013 visual C++ redist from Microsoft
2. Download and install the lastest visual C++ redist from Microsoft
3. Once installed, I place both files on my desktop for quick access.
4. Before each session, I open each file and use the “repair” function.
5. I restart the PC, and launch NBA 2K. I can play for hours without a crash.
I also deactivated the Ray-Traced Reflections, and set my antisotropy to 8. I don't really know which parameter affects what, but thanks to everyone's advice and testing on this thread, I can play without crashing.
EDIT 23 SEPT. -----
I haven't had too many crashes (maybe 3 in a week), but since today it's come back.
I recrash very regularly, especially in career mode. I've created a second player to farm VCs in Rookie, and on the press conference after putting in +60 points, I crash systematically. I restart the game, the press conference starts and I crash all the time.
Thank you for the solution. But having to do this before playing kinda discourage me to play.
I want to cry :(
UPDATE: So the settings posted previously are now working for me for some reason steam overlay is on as well hope this helps (7800 XT)
I have a 7800 xt, I tried several solutions here, but it didn't solve the problem.
I think the crashes come after the last update.
It's unacceptable on a 1 year game.
I also tried different settings, but by now we know that it's not us, but them who have problems, I tried to activate/deactivate vertical synchronization and AMD FSR but nothing, I still have the problem, above they mention Visual C++ but I already had them all, the game crashes randomly at every loading, whether at the end/beginning of the game or after any quarter, it's really frustrating, while it seems to have no problems in the city.
