1) Is it Worth It?
Again, I can't say for sure. In past NBA 2K games, MyCareer has always been really fun. For the sale price? Its probably worth it as you'll likely get dozens of hours of play at minimum.
Lets take a look at some other variables. Unlike other recent NBA 2K games, it appears this one finally has new gen upgrades. It also has a storyline for MyCareer, where others (I think NBA 2K24) didn't have any story. If you enjoy storylines with your MyCareer, this is a plus.
I've avoided NBA 2K games recently because year after year they weren't given new gen upgrades, and MyCareer was missing a storyline. It looks like this year they have both these things, both pluses in my book.
2) Can You Enjoy Career Mode By Just Playing Normally? Aka, can you play without spending additional currency
The short answer is yes. This was the same in past NBA MyCareer games.
The long answer is sort of. 2K intentionally makes the process very grindy to try and push people to pay for currency. Based on research, it sounds like this year's variant is no different. Some claim its the worse its ever been grind wise, while others say its about the same as it always is (which to say, is generally very grindy).
That said, if the grind is roughly the same as its been in past titles, then yes expect some grind, but its not unbearable.
This is what they want people to do . Spend $ then after spend more$.
You have been warned! gl!
