There is no offline MyCareer. MyNBA with player lock might be more to your needs, though.

Wait what do you mean no offline career? Can you elaborate on what you said please? Meanwhile I'll try to search more info too, thanks

you need to always be connected to the internet to access MC on the game as it isn’t like other modes you can play even when offline. it has been like this for some few years now.

Frankly it's the absolute bane of what's wrong with gaming and this studio. To be more clear, I think you may be referring to the ability to play offline games against the CPU. And that is available, along with a version of MC (my career) but that follows the WNBA. So it's a career mode that is not monetized and can be played offline.

Where this studio puts all of it's financial resources every year whils every single employee and studio partner plays ignorant, is in the My Career and My Team full feature rich modes. And they are in fact excellent and you can tell a lot of development goes into those modes. It's a ton of acting and rendering and truly genuine worlds and systems in play.

However it's all monetized and whatever anyone buys, is not ever theirs as it's entirely deleted every few years from their servers. There is no offline storage for the player cards people spend billions on that can be played offline with their fully badged out my team squads for example.

And some of the bot driven or studio affiliated narratives will say that it's all optional. But the bottom line is EA pushes the rewards to be grindable but to win awards that are only to get better gear or player cards. People can purchase the cards but no one can say what the goal of grinding the content is because it's ALL to get better end game cards. So it's money or sweat equity to be used ONLY for currency and options that will not ever be able to benefit the user since it's ALL deleted.

So all the complaints year after year about minor changes to the looks and features of the game are because it's always spent for online only modes that are not only predatory, but frankly possibly illegal as they have algorithms that prime and manipulate the gamer to spend and act impulsively. I'm only alleging this though and not saying it's factual, but they may change in the future if some of my recordings and work get the notice I hope it does on their dynamic difficulty adjustments and other things they deny.

Its a great game as crazy as that sounds and I think it's at the forefront of some of the best technology, developer competence and what gaming has to offer. I truly believe that. But it's run wild for years able to deliberately confuse new consumers with disjointed mechanics (splitting explaining features between my career and my team), fuzzy understanding of what will be kept and deleted, and numerous highly advanced psychological and behavioral manipulations built into their models that truly cause nothing but problems and negative consequences for the gamers and fans. One day I hope that changes. It you get the game, play wnba mode and offline matches against the CPU.

Usually, when someone says "offline MyCareer" they are referring to the NBA section of MyCareer where they earn VC playing through the season against the CPU as opposed to the Park/City areas which are multiplayer.

The point is that any area using VC is connected and relies on the server which is why I was pointing to MyNBA as the surrogate option as you can play completely offline games against the CPU. Or Season mode but that's as the whole team, to my knowledge.

Just buy it in a key shop, it's not worth spending this much cash on a game that forces you to buy their microtransactions everytime you start the game, plus you'll have spare money that you can use for VC.

Oh I see how it may have appeared to be a response to what you wrote but it wasn't at all as I just read what they wrote and was already kinda in my head about my other thoughts! "To be clear" though, i also appreciate your presence on the forum and also know it's a relatively thankless job I'm many ways. I wish more forums had more affiliated representatives that also allowed people to have their opinions and even differences of opinion which I think you handle quite well. Cheers.
NO, NO, AND NO

Thanks! I don't know if I count as an "affiliated representative" as I'm just a volunteer moderator, not 2K staff, but I'm glad to receive the compliment!

So MyCareer will be unavailable when they shut the servers down for this game correct?

Correct, same as every game since NBA 2K20. Anything that uses VC will become unavailable.
