Why is my game redownloading 100+GB for the update???

What the hell is going on? I tried playing and then it started patching and now it's patching 100 something GB and taking forever. I'm so done with these pointless updates that add no improvements to the actual gameplay. Just online and multiplayer.

not re-downloading , it's patching over the 100gb pre-existing file , the way steam lists it is rather confusing. But they must've made changes to 100gb worth of file , with [2gb] - Patch size worth of changes. 2gb new , 100gb worth of stuff was slightly edited.

it isn’t confusing. when updating games, the left side is the size being downloaded and the right side is the size of existing files that will be patched.

For those with issues launching the game or crashing when it's loading, it finally worked for me when I uninstalled my Avast Anti-virus. With just Windows Security, it worked - I was prompted for access by 2k25 anti-cheat after. So the error does have something to do with firewall, anti-virus, or whatnot that's blocking the anti-cheat hence why it won't let you load the game. Hope this leads you guys to solve the issues with yours. Check your PC's security settings.
