NBA 2K25 Release Time/pre-download Information

New Zealand (NZST) - 4:00 PM - Sept 4/6
Australia (AEST) - 2:00 PM - Sept 4/6
Japan (JST) - 1:00 PM - Sept 4/6
Singapore (SGT) - Noon - Sept 4/6
United Kingdom (BST) - 5:00 AM - Sept 4/6
United States (EDT) - Midnight - Sept 4/6
United States (PDT) - 9:00 PM - Sept 3/5

It's worldwide at the same time this year. So if you can't download yet, wait for the US East Coast to hit midnight, then give it a little longer for the server to actually release the game, restart Steam and see what happens. If it doesn't start to download, wait another 15 minutes and restart again.

NOTE, the first: Pre-order content will become available at full game launch, after Early Tip-Off. https://nba.2k.com/2k25/early-tip-off-faq/

NOTE, the second: There has been no pre-download of the game on Steam since NBA 2K21 so while you never know with it being the 9th Gen version this year, I wouldn't expect it either.

Why isnt pre release install a thing for this then?? Swear it normally is for games on steam and even NBA on console? Only reason i bought it early was to pre install the game

Pre - Order

Hello. This would be my first time that i will pre - order a game and i wonder how it works. I am doing it to play 4/9 as they say if you pre - order early. So i will have my game unlocked at 4/9 they say 5 AM so to download the game and stuff is there something else to know. Thanks in advance??

Why in my steam games appear i will unlock the nba 2k25 in day 6 of september and no in 4 of september?

As per the 2k discord channel -- Steam can only display 1 time for the countdown clock so it will show September 6 but PC does get Early Tip-Off.

My guess is that a lot of people spread an exploit to get the console game unlocked earlier, so the timing of the Early Tip-off release on consoles has been adjusted to mitigate that. It's only 8 hours difference. I'm surprised it's not the same with the official release times, though.
