New Zealand (NZST) - 4:00 PM - Sept 4/6
Australia (AEST) - 2:00 PM - Sept 4/6

It's worldwide at the same time this year. So if you can't download yet, wait for the US East Coast to hit midnight, then give it a little longer for the server to actually release the game, restart Steam and see what happens. If it doesn't start to download, wait another 15 minutes and restart again.

NOTE, the second: There has been no pre-download of the game on Steam since NBA 2K21 so while you never know with it being the 9th Gen version this year, I wouldn't expect it either.

they dropped a faq on the early tip-off launch, we get it on sep 4th, just like console. this goes for all editions of the game.

No, that's the release date. It'll be unlocked on the 4th if you have the early tip-off.
