MyCareer offline?
Played NBA for yearssss on console, but been a pc gamer for a while now. Im looking at getting it on a steamdeck or a laptop for when im away with work. Problem is the wifi, wifi will basically be non existent and the only reason i play NBA is for MyCareer grind. I normally play park but if im playing mycareer then i love the grind and thats the main reason i buy NBA every year. But i just know that you cant play mycareer and grind without being connected to the internet? Am i correct in this? This is the only thing i care about getting the steamdeck for to grind mycareer while away as will be bored for months on end. Thanks

You are correct. MyCareer is an online mode, even in single player.

Worst decision nba 2k has ever made. it's the reason why I haven't bought any new 2k games. I just want to play by myself offline.

Even if they seperate mycareer from the online park thing it would still have to be online because of denuvo, I think so anyway.

Between this and a lack of crossplay, I haven't paid for another one of these games after 2k16. This company releases nothing but low effort ports on PC, which became incredibly evident during the "Next Gen" phase of their titles where PC was left out so they could make more money on PS5/XBone sales. It's a garbage company with greedy practices. Their history of negative reviews on their PC releases speaks for itself. Everyone should stop giving them money.

There are other ways to play a similar experience. MyNBA with player lock might be an option for you. Or just playing through a season?

I stopped buying NBA 2k, I like my career and I want it offline, period. I am sticking with Nba2k15 for now.
