Jump shot when trying to do a layup

What am i doing wrong 80% of the time i try to do a quick scoop layup i end up trying a pull up jumper. like when i try to drive to the basket and do a reverse layup i do a jump shot twords the out of bounds line

If you pull the stick back you get a shot. Stick toward the basket for layups.

i know that its mostly when i pull the stick to the side for a reverse or back and to the side for a euro step, my guy ends up stopping and doing a pull up jumper. i think my problem was trying to do it from to far away from the hoop
