You can't manual cut anymore?

Seems like you cant manually tell a player to cut to the rim anymore cuz it INSTANTLY releases the ball to him, making it a USELESS feature. Unlike in 2k24, you can hold the cut button longer and release it. When the guy gets under the rim for example. Anyone else notice this? or am I doing something wrong? I even changed the button in controller settings and it still releases the ball RIGHT as the guy starts cutting as opposed to whenever you WANT to send the pass (closer to the net).
