First time booting the game i was able to play the intro but after loading into main menu it crashes, now when i try to even boot the game it instantly crashes. Anyone else experiencing this?

Steam - Settings, Go to In Game and turn off ''Enable the steam overlay while in game''.

(Fun fact after i got the main menu,i was able to turn this back on with no problems)

Riva tuner/after burner - Close afterburner/RivaTuner,check background processes with Task manager and close those also.

Nvidia - Open Geforce Experience,Click the gear icon in the top right corner and go into settings. Go to general and turn off ''In-Game Overlay''.

After my first boot into the main menu,I was able to use these again. It's just a hurdle for the signing agreement. Good luck dude.
all set still get crash when starting game

Did all the steps and nothing sadly. Interestlingly the game does not pop up in the GeForce Experience games list like the rest of my installed steam games do.

I think the issue is CPU related. When its installing shaders it maxes out my I7 14700k to the point of thermal throttle and then either the game, or my PC crashes. Unless you want to risk permanant hardware damage, i recommend waiting for a patch on this one. I wont be risking my system just to play NBA 2k25.

there is anti-cheat in the game called EAC which can crash the game when you're using a cheat engine or other programs my game is run fine and I'm not experiencing any crash.

i also have the same problem, i've tried everything, but it still crashes on startup. it's really frustrating. my pc meets the minimum requirements for the game and plus the cpu supports AVX2 and graphics card supports DX12

If you have the mods folder, try to delete it. It worked for me.

unfortunately, i don't have a mods folder currently, but now upon launching with the new patch it says "failed to init d3d12 device with error code 0x213a9091"
