The cheating issue... NBA 2K25 Edition
If you want to discuss any cheating issues in the game, if there are any this year, this is the place to do it.

Just remember that naming and shaming goes against Steam's Code of Conduct, so anyone throwing accusations around will be reprimanded accordingly. This includes screenshots with player names. Please report cheaters to 2K Support.

A reminder that discussion on how the cheating is done is also against the rules. Even if everyone supposedly knows how to do it, don't spread it here for those who actually don't.

It's easy to report in-game this year so make sure you are.
What are the steps for that?

click on player with r3, select him on the social media, and there is an option to report on his card (with a submenu, cheats, offensive spoke, etc....) dont need to do nothing more

dont expect too much youll only get disappointed, as long people pays those trainer, you can see slinderman and spider man in the game, another reason why cant ban them because their names are encrypted with weird symbols and characters

Anti-cheat is pretty useless for this game. Even after Vanguard, you’ll still see cheaters in Valorant from time to time. Overwatch uses HWID bans, yet you still encounter cheaters every few games. They even track your Windows license serial number, but people still manage to make spoofers for this.

2K will never reach the anti-cheat level of Overwatch or Riot. However, they could implement unique IDs and in-game reporting systems as I mentioned before. I can’t believe they thought of anti-cheat before this.

It's like trying to teach a baby to run before they can even stand still

Eh
You buy VC, use VC to upgrade your character, hence, pay to win.
Of course you can do it without paying, but that doesn't change the fact, that this is the DEFINITION of pay to win.

Not even close; if you can grind for it then it can't be P2W. P2W is cash only and affects character/player strength in ways that aren't obtainable in-game.

is the cheating issue really that bad?
ive always played on ps4 and i want to play the next gen version but idk how bad the situation is, i played a bit of park during 2k24 on EU servers and didnt see a lot of "slenderman" builds and havent played enough to tell who has an autogreener and who doesnt. and if any EU players can tell me if the parks have a good amount of people playing during the year id be much appreciated.

invest in a PS5 if you primarily play online modes, not only are there a ton of cheaters on PC but the PC player base is tiny compared to the consoles

it's nearly impossible to get into a rec game a few months after release

i'm going to grab it on PC primarily for MyCareer, and maybe some MyTeam single player stufff

This is the one but I fixed the console suggestion. Supporting Sony is a big no-no as a gamer.

It's the same every year they won't address it and they won't ban cheaters. Doesn't matter how much proof you send because they've got the data that makes it so obvious yet they do nothing.

Just do yourselves a favour and avoid this company till they start treating you with the decency you deserve.

What anti-cheat was in 2k24? Really praying 25 has a good one if any :(

The Impact of Cheaters in NBA 2K25: A Comprehensive Discussion
As NBA 2K25 Release continues to captivate players with its immersive gameplay and realistic basketball experience, a growing concern will still emerged: and that is rise of cheaters. Cheating in online gaming is not new, but its impact on competitive sports games like NBA 2K23 to 2K24 no 2K25 has become increasingly problematic. In this discussion, i will explore the ramifications of cheating, its impact on the gaming community, and share my potential solutions that could address this issue.

1. The Nature of Cheating in NBA 2K25

Cheating in NBA 2K25 can take various forms, including but not limited to:

Exploiting Glitches: Some players use glitches or bugs in the game to gain an unfair advantage. These can range from exploiting specific animations to performing actions that were not intended by the developers.

Using Third-Party Tools: External software or hardware that modifies game data or provides players with an unfair edge is another common form of cheating. This includes tools that enhance player statistics, alter game outcomes, or automate actions.

Boosting and Account Trading: Cheaters may engage in account boosting or trading, where experienced players help others achieve high ranks or obtain rare items, often for a fee.

2. The Impact on the Gaming Community

The presence of cheaters in NBA 2K25 affects various aspects of the game:

Gameplay Experience: For legitimate players, encountering cheaters can be extremely frustrating. It disrupts the competitive balance and undermines the sense of fair play, making it harder for players to enjoy the game as intended.

Community Trust: Cheating erodes trust within the gaming community. Players who adhere to the rules may feel disheartened or discouraged if they constantly face opponents who cheat, leading to decreased participation and engagement.

Developer Reputation: Persistent cheating issues can damage the reputation of the game's developers. Players may criticize the development team for inadequate anti-cheat measures, affecting their credibility and relationship with the community.

3. Addressing the Problem

Developers and players alike have a role in combating cheating:

Enhanced Anti-Cheat Systems: Game developers need to invest in robust anti-cheat technologies and regularly update them to address new cheating methods. This includes monitoring for suspicious activities, implementing stronger encryption, and actively banning cheaters.

Community Reporting: Empowering the community to report suspected cheaters can be an effective measure. Players should have easy access to reporting tools and a clear process for addressing their concerns.

Education and Awareness: Educating players about the consequences of cheating and promoting a culture of integrity can help reduce the appeal of cheating. Developers can engage with the community to reinforce the importance of fair play.

4. Future Directions

Looking ahead, the battle against cheating in NBA 2K25 and future iterations of the game will require continuous effort and adaptation. As cheating techniques evolve, so must the strategies to counteract them. Collaborative efforts between developers, players, and the broader gaming community will be crucial in maintaining a fair and enjoyable gaming environment.

Conclusion

Cheating in NBA 2K25 presents significant challenges for other players who play fair, but it is not insurmountable. By implementing advanced anti-cheat measures, fostering community involvement, and promoting a culture of fair play, the negative impacts of cheating can be mitigated. As we look to the future, it's essential for all 2k Employee to work together to ensure that the competitive spirit and integrity of the game are preserved.

But all it takes is for the community to really vote on this to try limit cheaters and cheating its not fair to players who are playing fair

This is why I have abandoned 2k on pc and bought a ps5 for my sports games. Quit it awhile back when Gianni’s was the 2000 card reward and saw someone had him 3rd day when there wasn’t even 2000 cards in the game yet. Been playing it on console ever since.

What are reasons 2k not banning cheaters with numerous reports with screenshots from community?

It seems 2k encourages cheating, and moreover, they ask for full price for their game when online modes are broken by cheating issues, so they consciously misleading customers by advertising and selling broken product. It's court case in a perfect world.
