Bro your on the PC...FIGURE IT OUT!!!! There are plenty of ways to improve your graphics.......weird
Um, I'm running with all the graphics settings at their highest.
Put the difficulty up and you get more VC. You don't need to buy VC when they give you so much for free this time around. Daily quests, better daily rewards etc.
1. The same recycled gameplay—where’s the innovation?
Every year, we get told that the gameplay is “better than ever,” but when you actually pick it up, it’s the same old mechanics with a new coat of paint. Dribble moves? Same. Shooting mechanics? Barely different. Defense? Still broken. It’s like they don’t even bother anymore because they know people will just buy it anyway. Where’s the progress? Are we seriously paying $70 for the same game we’ve been playing for the last 5 years?
2. MyCareer is a joke at this point
Why do they even bother pretending MyCareer is something new every year? It’s the same boring story with some half-baked celebrity cameo, and the grind is just as ridiculous as ever. Oh, but they added a new neighborhood? Wow, groundbreaking. And guess what—it’s STILL just a way to push microtransactions harder than ever. Don’t even get me started on the VC grind. They want you to either spend all your time or all your money. Pick your poison.
3. Where’s the inclusivity? No real progress here either.
For a game that’s supposed to be the pinnacle of basketball culture, NBA 2K25 is completely out of touch. The NBA is diverse, global, and progressive—yet this game feels like it’s still stuck in the past. How about adding some real representation in MyCareer or in the players you can create? Maybe let us see more LGBTQ+ or non-binary athletes in the storylines or create characters that reflect the actual diversity of the world. They’ve had YEARS to do this, and yet we’re still stuck with the same old cookie-cutter male athlete stereotypes. For a game that prides itself on realism, it sure does a poor job reflecting reality.
4. The online experience is still broken
It’s 2024, and somehow 2K still can’t get the servers right. Lag, disconnects, and glitchy matchmaking ruin the experience every single year. You’d think with all the money they’re making off VC, they could at least invest in making the online experience playable. But no—why bother fixing anything when they know people will keep buying it?
5. Microtransactions have ruined the game
Let’s be real, NBA 2K25 isn’t a basketball game anymore—it’s a storefront. Every single mode is designed to push you toward spending money on VC. Whether it’s MyCareer, MyTeam, or even basic customization, it’s all locked behind ridiculous paywalls. This isn’t about the game anymore; it’s about how much money you’re willing to throw away just to make your player viable.
At this point, I’m just wondering why people are still falling for this. Are we really that desperate for a basketball game that we’re willing to accept anything 2K throws at us? It feels like no one is willing to demand better anymore.
You would have thought I'd have learned the first or second time, nope.
Over it.
We need a new developer for NBA titles, one that cares about its players and is not simply attempting to prey on them and syphon their funds at every opportunity.
Whatever happened to NBA LIVE?
I was in the same spot, but one day I said I'm not giving any more money to this company and stick with it. When looking at videos and reading through forums I can always see why it has been the right decision.
The gameplay and stories have become worse and worse, while the graphics get better and better. But a nice look doesn't make a good game especially when devs take away all the depth.
The downfall of the series was whenever devs went for the EA Sports marketing route, which means a shortcoming of clever and consequent developement while trying to min/max the income. That's when NBA2K lost it's soul.
It's simply not worth it to buy as long as it's not your go to game, that you play on a daily basis!
And don't ask for EA sports games, it's the same stupid nonsense every year! No soul no innovations, just min/max marketing man.
In reality, we have to accept that we all live in the worst times right now for playing and enjoying sports videogames. There's just zero to none competition in the genre, which means developers won't look for quality gameplay anymore.
