im gonna spend hundreds and why u still playing 2k23 lol catch up bro
They're even using most of the animations from back then.
Now that's what I call progress!
- Really cool physics when a 175 lb 5'11" guard can pull down and heavy-foul a 6'9" 275lb forward moving at freight train speed jumping up for a layup with full momentum. See that every day in the NBA. Happens every single day. You don't hear stories --all the time-- about players running away when bigger players come steaming down the court.
- Anti - aliasing what? What's that?
- Love your completely broken animations that cut into one another, don't cancel properly, and make your player feel like they are completely stuck and give you a sense of having little to no control. Good job, you guys are the smartest smarticles that ever did the big vidjya james! :D
- 2K now Features even better gameplay combined with the AI who love zig-zagging around you at Lightspeed while you are stuck in mud!
- 2K, prolly : "Playvision? You wanted to be able to see your plays? Ha! Nah, you have the Lakers so your play overlay is mostly white on a super bright wood flooring with lights overhead, -- Oh and by the way if you miss a timing window by a microsecond the play is broken. Good Luck. Have fun!"
- Shot Mechanics Make No Sense ; So... Lemme get this straight. Slightly early/excellent release/tempo means absolutely nothing -- even if you are open. {Normal Risk/Reward} Changing between rhythm pro-stick shooting and regular legacy makes absolutely no impact from my experience.
I can be on a 55 slider with a 90+ three-point shooter going 1/11 on mostly open/slightly contested shots... The only ones that go in are perfect releases... So tell me just what in the Jumping Jambalaya is the point in all these fancy stupid changes you made..?
Oh, oh, oh, oh... My bad... My bad, g. I forgot you have to gaslight all the online players into questioning their basic skillsets which have been relatively the same for decades. That's riiiiiiiiiiighhhht... I'm... Psh, sorry, man. I'm trippin'. I forgot y'all are vampires.
P.S. While I'm sitting here trying to stroke home the perfect shot, barely being off and tossing bricks - the AI is draining threes from 25+ feet. Draining home contested shots with perfect releases... Man... Get up out my face with this. Y'all are actually out of your minds doing this to players and making the game play in this way. You should all seriously be ashamed of yourselves for releasing this.
- 2K/The Game Decides ; Not Your Player/Strategy/Tactics : Remember back a few titles ago they were going on about "Oh, every game will have a story - certain factors play into this and that and this and that blah blah blah". Well, I played a few PlayNow's with the same team. Re-running to watch how things changes on the same slider-set. One-rematch a really good player would be bricking while the other is balling outta control despite any ratings. Next game, it'd be someone else. So on and so forth. Basically. Your ratings DO NOT MATTER ANYMORE. Your 90+ 3PT stat means NOTHING. Let that release go by a microsecond too early when you're slightly covered -- forget it. Won't ever go in. You can try all day and you'll hit 10%. GUAAAAAAAARRRRRRAAAAANNTEE.
- Teammates Guard You ; I've played about... Maybe a dozen games so far or more? Full times and all. Can't count the amount of times I am trying to get around my own teammate to guard someone or get to the basket or my spot on the floor. Doesn't even make sense why they are standing/moving where they are. It's almost like it's purposeful.
- Sudden Stopping ; So whenever my 90/90 Acc/Speed player does manage to actually utilize his first step advantage {Gold badge and all} -- here's something really cool. I don't get the stuttering/fluctuating FPS issue as much but here's what I got... When I do manage to blow around a defender -- my player will just... Stop. Straight up put the brakes on and just sit there and wait for the defender - - then when the defender is back in place ; I can move again...
- Magic Spacing ; Watched plenty of replays where a defender gets a momentary speedhack to cover a lane/snatch a pass that they weren't even looking at or cover a shot they were in no position to get to. Watched some absolutely tiny-lookin' guard literally run from baseline key to the circle in under half a second and contest Porzingus... Bro... Come on... Just give the player the bucket at that point like on Jah.
- 2K Turned Up Their Cheese ; You know it. I know it. Everybody knows it. Beyond messing with your players stats to influence the outcome of play in any given game because of some story you never hear or are keyed-into. Just about any time a gap starts to form in a game... All the sudden the AI starts pulling some unbelievable feats to insure that you start getting a momentum DRAIN. Each and every time my team is poised to firmly take lead or have an edge in momentum - all the sudden no one can shoot, no one can protect the ball, play routes are broken, animations mess up or my player makes some unprovoked screw-up, and timings are all off. This year it's so much worse than ever before, I actually cannot stomach it. It's so blatant... Y'all should be ashamed.
- Half Time show is going at three times speed with no sync'd audio.
Anyway. That's my take on Offline and all the 'NextGen' changes... Honestly... I may never buy another 2K title, ever again. It's pitiful. 2K25 will easily go down as the worst basketball game ever made in my book. It'll take something... Incredibly incompetent for that to change.
'preesh dawgy. I mostly play offline like MyNBA and stuff. I accidentally went into MyTeam and pulled KD, MJ, and Luka from my first packs {94 OVR} but I don't even know if that's a good random first pull. Haven't touched MyTeam at all, pretty much, not yet. When it comes to MyCareer I gave that up years ago. Just can't be asked. Prefer playing with the dynamic of the whole roster/etc.
I'll try different dribble sets. Right now the most annoying cut-animation I get is when I try to go from a static dribble combo into a drive and for some reason my character tries to do this wacky hesitation like - stutter jump move for me even touching the sprint trigger.
But yeah, these are just growing issues which I've watched consistently become more and more prudent with each title year. Wanted to get them listed out somewhere, I guess.
It's weird. When they added all the 'story dynamics' and whatnot affecting the ability of players -- it started to become too heavy of a 'weight'. Personally, the best solution I've found to longevity across NBA titles is becoming a dang 'slider master' and playing mostly offline modes. I just make a created player with some core stats and then use the coaching staff to train them up. Plus, in MyNBA you can at least do roster management and trades. Sure, you don't get the story but my motto has always been "never sacrifice gameplay for realism/story elements" and 2K fumbled that yeears ago by being greedy on top of it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I know exactly how you feel with the difficulty's having a lack of 'stepping'. I have been doing nothing but Freestyle practice/plays/scrimms/practice games and have been adjusting my sliders - a loooot. They are --absolutely nothing close to vanilla values-- and I'm unsure if it'd be fitting for others play-styles but I always recommend people to try building their own personal sliders. Maybe try downloading a preset or starting with a difficulty preset that's close and adjusting it from there if you play/enjoy any offline modes where you can edit them.
Also, maybe try experimenting in a practice or exhibition game {like a FIBA or All - Star - something fun} and change your Risk/Reward settings. Sometimes when I'm really hot, I change from Low/Normal risk-reward to High risk-reward on timings and actually manage to knock down more consistently once I've gotten in the feel for the shot or want to go 'heat mode'. Alternatively try using low risk/reward if you haven't already because there's a bigger emphasis on the defensive coverage and rating. So depending on if you're running plays/vs iso or through a specific player/pacing in the offense or even have a team/match up you know you can ball out on - you can change it. :D
