When 2k was slow dripping videos for the game I expected since they were finally moving to next-gen on PC they would show off a shiny trailer showing off PC graphics AND/OR highlight the steam deck compatibility they chose to highlight in their PC FAQs (https://nba.2k.com/2k25/pc-faq/)..

but nothing so far and this game is releasing this week? give us some screenshots at least 2k

So is the PC version finally 'Next Gen' with 2k25?
its why ive been holding out for years, was always inferior to the console version
I can only speak for the Steam Deck as I don't play on an actual PC. And I only have a PS4. So this is my first time with the "next gen" version. It has all of the features of the "next gen" version, but the graphics are kind of blurry in the actual game. I've been tinkering around the settings based on other people's suggestions and it's helped, but it doesn't feel next gen to me in terms of graphics.

But to me the biggest difference is the MyEras mode and for that reason alone it's worth buying to me.
if that means i can run a team thru the 90s that sounds amazing
I really don't see the difference in graphical fidelity tbh. maybe my eyes are just bad but I didn't get the wow factor when I first loaded into a game.

Yes, you can start in the 80's or in the 90's, I think around 1992 (Shaq draft era). It goes year by year from there with rosters from that time (incomplete but a lot of the important players are there), and draft classes year by year (same deal as the roster). It has everything from the time period like team logos/branding, rules, salary cap for that time, etc. You can also veto anything as it comes so if you don't want logo changes, certain rule changes, etc, you can veto it and the "older" stuff will stay as-is.

I imagine in the coming weeks people will make rosters and draft classes with nobody missing as well.

There's a lot of rightful complaints about 2K with their microtransactions and BS but if you play franchise mode and want to experience previous eras as well, it's an amazing mode.
yeah that sounds freaking amazing, loved that era, back when i was really into bball

as far as microtransactions go, yeah we started seeing the writing on the wall as far back as 2k13 with all that VC stuff

Yeah same, I loved the 2000's the most so I'll probably start with the 1991-1992 season and it'll give 30-40 years of runway at that point.
buying on PC is still a bad move unless you only plan to play local vanilla games or local vs. they will still treat the PC version like a red headed step child and there is no cross play - which kills MyTeam and MyCareer online play. PC player base is just too tiny.
Standard edition = nextgen?
Is the standard edition a nextgen version?
There is only one version of the game on PC.
this game feels next gen
I have pretty much brought every single NBA 2K game in the last decade

the past few have all felt like the same game

2K25 graphically is a step up...the animations "feel" different, more next gen...hard to describe

it is also alot more taxing on my system....all previous 2Ks I was able to run max at 60 fps no issue, but this one def pushes my card and I've had to tweak some settings
it literally is next gen.
