But that means I have to change half the stuff in my PC and I just spent 120 quid on this. Is there any other solution?

Given the circumstances, you are (& probably will be for some time) able to refund even if you have surpassed the allowed playtime, so don't worry about that part. Rather try and see if 2K makes a statement or smth. I've refunded and I'm waiting to see if anything comes up.
It's based on a new requirement so I doubt they'll make any extra statements. Officially, you would need to upgrade. A processor that can run the AVX2 instructions set is a requirement for the game. As AVX2 is a hardware instruction set. It can't be installed via drivers. If a processor can't run it, it doesn't meet the specs.

Unofficially, there's an Intel emulator that could make it work, but this would be at your own risk. It's not something 2K Support would be able to suggest or assist with, I'm only mentioning it because it's an Intel website.

They'll remove it in 2k26

We Need A AVX2 Removal Patch ASAP
So will 2k developers add a patch for WWE 2K25 that will allow CPUs not supporting AVX2 to run the game? I have a AVX and F16C instruction capable AMD CPU and I have a very high end 8-Core 4.2 Ghz CPU that can run every game I have on Ultra settings. So I already have a really good CPU and it will run WWE 2K25 fine just like it ran WWE 2K24 flawlessly on Ultra settings. So I shouldn't have to upgrade my CPU, Motherboard, and RAM just for one game.

If there were custom WWE 2K25 executables made by 2K devs for players that don't have the AVX2 instructions then this would be solved quickly and easily with a patch. Just like how Uncharted 4 - Legacy Of Theives and Dying Light 2 removed the AVX2 instruction requirements in a patch. Because this is the most ridiculous requirement that is stopping me from buying WWE 2K25 this year for PC. I have bought every WWE 2K game since WWE 2K15 for PC and have never seen this AVX2 problem before. I thought PC was considered last gen. Why are we just now requiring next generation hardware requirements like AVX2??? It just doesn't make any sense to me and we need a patch to fix this ASAP.

'Very High end' it wasnt considered that in 2012 when it launched, let alone in 2025, now its scraping the bottom of midrange at best, which sure is fine as a 1080p grade chip I suppose for a game of this type ported from a console... but c'mon.... lets be real.

same here, I'm a bit new to PC. only got it as a gift on Christmas about 3 months ago. i had not got a clue of what is an AVX2. was so excited and hyped for this game but when i bought it, it refused to launch. i tried almost every YouTube tutorial but nothing works. so you HAVE to have AVX2 to run this game. literally had this PC for 3 months and ALREADY need to upgrade it. also tried refunding it however i got rejected TWICE. the second one i even stated a lot of information and still got rejected. reason i can come up with is that 2K25 came with 2K24, Been playing that because 2K25 is unlaunchable. ive got over the 2 hour limit (i think its 2 hours but i could be wrong) and bear in mind ive bought the Bloodline Edition, so ive spent 120 pounds on a game that doesn't launch and i cant even get my money back smh.

and i also agree with your statement on saying that we were given the last gen version of 2K25 but we need a next gen requirement to run this game?

i SERIOUSLY pray that hopefully 2K can patch AVX2 out so all of us can launch it and be happy. but part of me thinks that 2K is serious about AVX2, thus not patching it out. then it will be the default requirement for 2K26 and so on. if that happens will i dont know what im gonna do because i cannot refund it. i only have one option and its that i have to save up for a whole new CPU that supports AVX2 and get it installed into my PC (i literally have no experience on installing and replacing stuff on a PC before)

Okay my mistake, I meant to say it is a high end CPU for AMD. It is considered a mid range CPU when compared to an Intel CPU. But it still runs everything I throw at it with no problems whatsoever. If I can run Resident Evil 3 Remake, Resident Evil 4 Remake, and Resident Evil Village on the highest Ultra settings with no stuttering then I can play WWE 2K25. WWE 2K24 ran perfect and we all know that WWE 2K25 is just a copy and paste of that game with some lighting changes. It is still the same game engine so it should just work.

That is me being real, you don't have to believe me but that is the truth. The AMD FX-8350 CPU is a solid CPU for gaming and it works just fine. I only play in 1080p resolution because that is all you need to have a good PC gaming experience. I don't have a lot of money to blow on a new Motherboard, RAM, and a new CPU just because of one game that refuses to make a simple compatibility patch to remove the AVX2 requirement for high end CPUs that could run the game with AVX instructions instead. So before you make generalizations how about you research a little bit on the topic first instead of throwing meaningless ratings at my face. The CPU does its job and I don't need to upgrade it . . .PERIOD. It is not the fault of the CPU it is the 2K developers problem because they decided to add on an unneeded requirement that needs to be patched out so that everyone can enjoy WWE 2K25 and not just a select few.

I know man, I feel you. It really sucks that 2K pulled this little trick on us all. It is always some BS every year when these games come out. To show our disapproval for this AVX2 requirement we should all make 2K support tickets and request for a compatibility patch to be made for CPUs that can run the game fine but don't have the AVX2 instructions. Just like fans of Uncharted 4 - Legacy Of Thieves and Dying Light 2 pushed the devs to make a compatibility patch to remove the AVX2 requirement from the game. We need to do the same and push the 2K devs to make the same compatibility patch for WWE 2K25. Like i said if this is a last gen version of the game then make a last gen version compatibility patch so that last gen PC gamers can actually play the last gen version without having AVX2. Like that is common sense and I can't believe that 2K fumbled this hard on something so simple. Get it done 2K devs, or you will lose a lot of money because people can't even launch your damn game.

Looks like lots of people has an issue with this requirement, if thats the case, this is a no go for me at the moment.
It's really sad because its not that your PC can't handle this game because of normal requirements, it's because of an unnecesary requirement.

Will support that idea of tickets so they can patch it, meanwhile wwe 2k24 Will be my go.

If you guys and girls try to reach 2k, please give us feedback so everyrone can do their part

Hey all, I had the same issue too. I started using shadow pc and the game runs perfectly. Hope this helps.
After their most recent patch 1.06 I think, the game just works now.
Can someone confirm if it works now for patch 1.06?
spent three days installing 2K25 and i can confidently say that for me, still gets a popup saying that it needs AVX2 to run thus, the game still doesn't launch.

What is your processor?
WWE 2k24 runs perfectly for me with ultra settings, so not sure why they added in this AVX2 requirement for 2k25. Please get rid of this requirement. Makes no sense why 2k24 would run perfectly but not 2k25. I have an i7-3770k.

I bet the AVX2 was for the alternate Entrance Views, Underground's ppl on the ring, and blood, sweat and bruises as the match goes...
patch 1.07 the game work now without avx2?
The requirements have not changed.
