Given the circumstances, you are (& probably will be for some time) able to refund even if you have surpassed the allowed playtime, so don't worry about that part. Rather try and see if 2K makes a statement or smth. I've refunded and I'm waiting to see if anything comes up.
It's based on a new requirement so I doubt they'll make any extra statements. Officially, you would need to upgrade. A processor that can run the AVX2 instructions set is a requirement for the game. As AVX2 is a hardware instruction set. It can't be installed via drivers. If a processor can't run it, it doesn't meet the specs.

Unofficially, there's an Intel emulator that could make it work, but this would be at your own risk. It's not something 2K Support would be able to suggest or assist with, I'm only mentioning it because it's an Intel website.

Where did you see that it supports AVX2? It doesn't appear on these pages.

My 2k25 on Steam won't launch and not only do I meet or exceed every requirement, but my CPU DOES support AVX2.

What is your GPU/RAM/Harddrive?
Hey guys I think I know why 2K25 ain't running on PCs which even have AVX2 ( like mine ). It's probably because of F16C which my PC lacks. Let's just hope 2K releases a patch.
Hi y'all I have this F16C / 16-bit Floating-Point conversion instructions and this AVX2 / Advanced Vector Extensions 2.0 my processor is Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-8500 CPU @ 3.00GHz, 3000 Mhz, 6 Core(s), 6 Logical Processor(s) but wwe2k25 won't load I searched my processor on CPU-World though... What's the exact problem of my CPU?

If you know you have AVX2, it's better to make a new thread about your situation.

Game not opening at all for processors 3770 & 3770K.
I bought the advanced access deadman edition, and ever since yesterday the game is simply not opening.

After doing some research through the forums, I discovered multiple people with the same exact issue where steam says it's launching, then running, then it just never opens. Our common similarities ended up being that our specific processor runs on 3770.

This does not make sense, considering I ran previous 2K games just fine on 60 FPS with no crashing whatsoever.

I would like this new discussion to be dedicated to spread the word, such that 2K can patch it as soon as possible.

any answers?

Same with me as well.......my cpu supports AVX2 but doesn't support F16C. And F16C is what I believe is the root cause of this crash .

There is no "fix". AVX2 is a hardware instruction set. It can't be installed via drivers. If the processor can't run it, it doesn't meet the specs.

How do I check if mine supports AVX2 and F16C?

As the pinned FAQ thread says...
To find your computer's component names, go to the Steam app, click Help, then System Information. Processor Information > CPU Brand for the processor, and Video Card > DirectX Card for the graphics card.
