PC version is the 8th Gen console version this year - WWE 2K25 Edition
引用自 2K
What are the differences between the 8th and 9th Gen versions?
  • The Island is only on PS5/XBS

This is the thread to discuss the next-gen version of the game sticking to 9th Gen consoles this year and not coming to PC.

Here's a personal opinion on this that a member of 2K staff provided in the past for NBA 2K as the same thing happened with that franchise:
Wanted to address the PC discussion and give some insight from a business perspective on why it takes time for sports games to make the transition on PC's vs. console. I can assure you, this isn't 'laziness', in fact, this has been the case nearly every single generation - it normally takes a few years to see this change occur. Here's a big reason why:

As much as hardcore gamers buy new consoles or super high-powered PC's, most players do not own the biggest/brightest tech out there. When looking at what gen to put on PC, you have to look at the player base, and what capabilities their hardware has from a minimum spec perspective.

So let's say to run the new gen you need a much higher spec'ed PC, you may cut off 30-40% of the PC market, who is able to play the game at min-spec on older gen. Usually after new consoles come out, there's a big uptick in players improving PC's more casually, and games that have yearly iterations base decisions like this on the percentage of players on PC who meet the min spec threshold.

I know most in here are hardcore players, as are most of us, so this can be frustrating, but PC is vastly different than console, where everyone is on the same machine. Therefore, you have to base decisions on where the most amount of players can play. That's the business side of it.
Note that this is not an official statement.

New consoles become current gen the day they enter the market. "Next" implies "in the future", which means you are still pre-launch in the spacetime continuum. PS5 and Xbox Series X have been current gen for years. We should be talking about their successors by now.

I love the name "The Island of Relevancy". Is that its actual name? Because it should be. It is absolutely loaded with meaning.

I'm not sure what an "Usable urn" is but the rest are MyFaction cards for use in MyFaction mode and, if one time can be considered tradition, also unlock extra wrestlers for other play modes.

Don't throw your hard earned money to support garbage practices done by garbage companies.

I'm fine with no Island feature for pc. There is no way they would be able to do cross play with console players anyway. They are just afraid of pc hackers ruining their micro-transactions fuelled mode. In terms of 'last gen' version on the game- this won't be the case- the graphics will be the same as it always has been- better than console- unless the specifically come out and say the ps5/Xbox versions have enhanced graphics/lighting. Obviously the major issue is charging full price for a version missing a feature

And what about processors? If they go the same way as NBA 2K, then AVX2 seems to cut off a lot of people from the game.

I'm not saying that it's not to do with the bottom line in some way as well, but I'm not sure just over half is enough to decide to make that jump (assuming the same proportions actually play the game). And they would have been making that decision early last year rather than now. There could be other developmental issues we'll never hear about as well.

Well, AVX2 was introduced by Intel in 2013 and by AMD in 2015. And we are in 2025.

On the same page - Other Settings - AVX2 110.82%+16.38% (I have no idea how it can be more than 100%, but there's a discussion about AVX2=90% on Reddit regarding the July 2023 report).
And yet despite all that I'm having to tell multiple people on the NBA 2K25 forum that they don't have the processor to run the game. That suggests the data isn't absolute either which is a given because it's not a survey of all users.

We can only continue to speculate as there are multiple plausible reasons they could have made that decision.

I would just be very surprised if it turned out to be something on the subjective end like "laziness" or "lack of disrespect" or "there is no reason/excuse" as a company wouldn't have those reasons in their vocabulary.

AVX2 was implemented from haswell processor by intel in 2013 and by AMD with excavator processors in 2015. If you don't have an AVX2 processor in 2024 your aren't gaming on it anyways. Can you please stop peddling this lie that it's because of AvX2 processor's because it's being the standard for 8 years now and we have begun implementing a new standard AVX 10 from 2024. Never mind that AVX 512 has been the standard on PCs since 2017. But no a 10 year old tech is holding back a new mode.

Skipping this year's

Not paying the same for less

This "PC gets the lesser version" crap needs to stop, for real. Koei-Tecmo has been doing it for years (Dynasty Warriors 8 is a 360 port, for god's sake) and it's been stupid and insulting every single time.

My RTX 4090 is confused.
A game developed on pc, made for $500 consoles and excluding the very device the game mode is built on. This is what happens when people pour money into these lazy companies and they start to look down on its consumers.

What lie? I'm not saying it's definitely because of this, I'm saying it might be a factor.

However, having first-hand experience of repeatedly having to tell people in the NBA 2K25 forum that their processor doesn't run AVX2 so it's incompatible with the game suggests it's not an insignificant point to make.

Skipping as well. I already was considering skipping anyway. I came back to WWE games with 2K23 and then bought 2K24. Doesnt seem like enough is added to buy this yearly for me. And now a new mode, that could have gotten my interest, will not be on PC. Yea...I'm good.

Well if it's the reason they are going to hurt their bottom line a lot more. Hardly anyone has a game icon in the forums this year unlike last year and if they are running 10 year old+ processors, and thats the AMD side, Intel it has being the standard for 12 years they really should be looking at upgrading their systems. Using old obsolete tech as an excuse to say our game won't sell has literally made the game not sell. I would have pre-ordered the bloodline edition yesterday, like I have done year on year but I don't agree with what they have done. I own every WWE game on pc. Keeping it last gen on pc for the sake of 300 players is going to costs them thousands in sales.
