i do not. arcade is really just button mashing and reversal fests.
once in a while is ok, but when i am playing wrestling videogames, i want strategy based matches and ability to create different caliber wrestlers.
Main Eventers, Mid Carders, and Jobbers. so i can tell my own stories.
Lock ups only happen in the beginning of the match irl as a battle of positioning/test of strength.... To do that on a dazed opponent is the dumbest thing ever.
I just assign all my grapple moves to the combo system because that lock up is immersion breaking. I refuse to use it.
i liked the engines of 16 17 18 19 and 20. with Reversal Limits in all of them, i was able to have a SIM experience. If i wanted a one sided match,
just edit fighters stats to a 1 reversal slot vs 5 reversal slots.
IE a Goldberg Match from the late 90s.
or a slobber knocker like taker vs austin where both have 5 reversal slots.
or anywhere in between. with their current system from 23 and 24 its just button mashing fests and it gets boring fast. but again thats just my opinion.
i will still be getting the game and play the heck out of it and give feedback to DEVS and rant to the community and try again next year.
but it looks like 3rd year in a row you will get your arcade and i will not get my sim. but thats ok, i will give my reviews to the devs and try again next year.
They did this with 2K15 and it was garbage compared to the previous games. It took until 2K19 to refine it down and then the devs abandoned the franchise in favor one of the biggest bombs in wrestling video game history.
Blame Yukes.
for me any game of the franchise that used Reversal Limits allows me to experience a SIM game the way i want to. for me its all about TIERS. if i can separate wrestlers with different skill levels to create a variety of matches, i will be happy.
Exactly, if all wrestlers are the same, you cannot simulate, imagine if Mark Henry acts like a Hugh flyer or Khali like a jobber.
You can't make a sim like that and understand your opinion.
Khali for me will always be a mid carder nothing more. i just want to stay away from the Brooklyn Brawlers kicking out of a jackhammer. much less 3 jackhammers... much less beating goldberg caliber fighters.
i prefer my SIMS to be as realistic as possible. so time will tell what this year brings.
