While you can book things, the basic gameplay loop of Universe is closer to a Season Mode (its original description was Exhibition Plus) seeing as the mode books itself by default.

The promos on this universe mode do not have text or voice over. It's just A superstar speaking and then some prompts with 4 decisions come on. The least they could do is let us type out some things to say on a USB keyboard and mouse. For me it's looking like a sale.

For me WWE 2K is there to simulate a match. I can imagine my own stories and how they got to the match. Story engine in a game gets repetitive fast, but your imagination won't. I use rpg tables, works great.

I'm so happy to at least see promos return! And it honestly looks better since you can choose different ways to go with the call outs etc instead of it just being a mini game with nonsense dialogue that makes zero sense. My favorite is the open challenge. That will make universe a lot more random with who is a rival. If someone answers it and loses then on to the next, if they win it sets up a run to the next ppv for the title. This is a big W to 2k for this it was much needed.

Yeah that would be fun if it existed.

You could turn into learning opportunities too.
Like instead of actually debate you just give yourself math questions or some way to help study for a certification or exam or something, could be your flashcard mode haha

A question that matters to me is whether you can have promos run on full auto, like with the CPU making the decisions and fighting any resulting immediate matches.

Otherwise it's a problem.

Depends on what you think sucked about it, they we will tell you if that thing has been removed or fixed.

I can say they still haven't fixed the stable bug* after several years. Nothing deleting and reapplying the major shows can't fix though (still)

*wrestlers randomly shuffled on the cards, regardless of stable.

that setting it up wasnt intuitive at all, basically required a guide or youtube tutorial and still it doesnt do what you expect the mode to do. Same matches every time and just random rival events which dont even seem to impact anything.

If you dont use a spreadsheet and make the storyline up in your head there is nothing to the mode

why can you not make both ai to spectate matches instead of having to choose a wrestler to play with i just wanna spectate in universe mode

You actually can. When you choose a character, right before it asks you to confirm, it should say "Press X to toggle AI". You have to do that for all characters included in the match and that's how you get CPU vs CPU matches going

I heard on the reddit from someone that what they added was you can go next match now and can transition to the next match instead of going back to the match card like previous years and maybe that can all you to spectate since it'll give you a choice of superstar and if you leave the controller on the buttom it'll lead to spectate mode?
