Removed cutscenes in showcase?
did they remove the cutscenes in showcase? if so, why? I'm at my 3rd showcase and it's all ingame now, pretty disappointing comparing it to 2k24

They put music and commentary in them. As well as some throwback footage like always.

Last year was suspenseful music and silence

I meant as in, when there was a major spot coming up they would play the real life cutscene of the spot, but now it's all ingame footage

You mean the Slingshot technology. Funnily, enough, people were complaining about its use so they might have reduced how much they do it this time. Especially as some matches never happened.

Nobody really liked the slingshot stuff if you look at the feedback from previous years. The fully rendered cutscenes allow 2k to still show what happened and just splice in some audio or voice clips from the people there and it removes the limitations of the real life footage. E.g. they'd have to blur a lot of people in some footage, especially when its older.

Thats why they decided to go back to the old days of showcases being fully rendered during the matches. I vastly prefer the fully rendered matches

All in game cutscenes is way better than mixing real life clips. it was lazy in 2k24, and just go watch the matches at that point.

ah okay, didn't really know it wasn't popular in 2k24, got a little late to the party but me and my friends liked it a lot, sounds like it's us then :D
