No CPU vs CPU option in Universe Mode on PC

When setting up my universe mode, when customising my matches, there is no option to have them set to CPU vs CPU. In "play now", you can select a character to be a player or CPU, this option is not there in Universe Mode. Anyone else having this issue? Is this a known issue they're working on to fix?

Same problem here. I usually enjoy to watch my universe mode matches but it seems there is no option to do a cpu vs cpu match during the match setup.

I'm a bit confused by both of your observations. I just went into Universe mode and customized a match. While it didnt give me the option to straight up add cpu vs cpu, during the loading screen i was still allowed to unassign my controller and let the CPU handle both participants.

If that doesn't work for you guys, pause the match at the start and take your control away via "controller assignment"
