No Response After Launching from Steam
I’ve played the game for 67 hours without any major issues. Even after the 1.07 update, I was able to launch and play the game successfully. However, a few days ago, the game suddenly stopped working. Now, when I click "Play" on Steam, a white screen appears briefly, then nothing happens—the game just closes by itself.

I’ve tried verifying the integrity of game files multiple times, reinstalled the game, and even checked my antivirus settings. Nothing has helped so far.

My system specs are:
CPU: Ryzen 5 3500X
GPU: GTX 1660 Super

Take this up with steam so they get that the game is a broken mess. Maybe we can get them to refund the money at least.

Have you send in a ticket to 2K Support?
For those who can't launch the game, this is due to incompatibility with the Windows update. I restored Windows to the update (on the 15th of this month) and the game started working again.

Solution

This is what finally worked for me:

(Optional but recommended) If you're unsure, back up any save files or custom data before deleting these folders.

1. Uninstall WWE 2K25 from Steam.

2. Delete the game installation folder manually.

Mine location: E:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\WWE 2K25 (or wherever you installed it)

3. Delete the local config/save data folder.

Press Win + R, type %localappdata%, and press Enter.

Find and delete the folder named WWE2K25.

4. Reinstall WWE 2K25 via Steam.

Hope this helps someone else too!

will that delete the save files from the cloud?
WWE 2K24 stopped launching for me randomly after 150 hours back in November 2024. The game has never launched since, no matter what I tried. I finally gave up on it and quit trying. I just bought the new WWE 2K25. I went to launch it the first time and it has the same issues as WWE 2K24. I have not been able to boot this game up a single time. The game will not launch at all. I click the green play button on Steam, and it seems like the game might launch. It never does and the green play button just comes back up after a couple seconds. I figured the new game would work. Any help?

I'm honestly not too sure either — but did you ever install any mods?
If you did, try what I mentioned above: delete all related files completely. That fixed it for me.

It could also be something like a driver issue or some background program interfering. You can check out these two official support articles and try the steps they suggest:

https://support.2k.com/hc/en-us/articles/360009266794--PC-General-Troubleshooting-for-2K-Games

https://support.2k.com/hc/en-us/articles/10504341808787--PC-INFINITE-LOADING-ON-PC-GAMES

If it still doesn't work, I’d recommend contacting 2K support or asking ChatGPT.

(SOLVED *for me*) Look at my lower post on this thread to see what I did to get the game working.

@我才不是你老婆, Thanks for the links and tips. To answer your question, no, I have never used any mods on any WWE 2K game. I couldn't even tell you which mods exist for the games. I read the info on the first link you sent, and I've tried all those fixes already. None of them worked for me. The second link addresses infinite loading, but that's not the problem I'm experiencing. I'd think of it as massive progress if I had infinite loading and could get to any game screen at all (even the first one, whatever it is). The game game closes before it launches so quickly that after day of trying different fixes and attempting to launch the game, I still only have 3 minutes of 'in game' time according to Steam. I guess I paid money to be able to hit the play button & wait 2 or 3 seconds for the game to close/quit trying to load, and that's all. I did this same dance with WWE 2K24 from November 2024 to March 2025, before giving up and just accepting I have to wait for the new game (2K25). ...And here we are again lol.

I also just recorded this video of the probelm. It's a private link, & not a monetized video. So the only way to see it it from here. I hope this doesn't violate any forum rules. If it does, the moderate can remove the video link. That is what I experience every single times I've ever tried to launch the game. https://youtu.be/eknz9708Yow

I would recommend making your own thread instead of jumping on other people's as your symptoms and setup are likely different.

What are your specs?
(SOLVED *for me*)

Ok thanks.
This is my setup: Nvidia RTX 3070, SSD, i7-6700, 16 GB RAM

The game is working for me now. I wish I could state what thing I did that fixed it, because I tried so many things. The last thing I did was uninstall Windows updates all the way back to March 2025. I tried to launch the game and it still would not work. Then I gave up. When I went to turn on my PC the following day, Windows was installing updates. I'd guess some of the updates I deleted. I'm really not sure since in certain areas I know little about computers and operating systems. After my computer finished updating, I randomly tried WWE 2K25 and expected it to not launch again. It launched, and has launched 3 times since. It runs well for me. I wish I could be more help to people having issues getting the game to run.
