In more words:
The game does take a LITTLE bit of an adjustment, and some acceptance, to get into and enjoy. The first 'adjustment' is that this is a behind-the-player 3rd Person game, as opposed to the original's really panned out camera. Also, the stadium is MUCH bigger than in the original game; I'd say almost 3x the size, and you fly around at about 2x the speed -- with full vertical and horizontal freedom to boot (+ the ability to 'drift' if wanted/needed for really sharp turning).
Therein, you (can) control ALL members/positions of the team, instead of just the Catchers and Seekers like in the original. The biggest change, and arguably one that still kinda gripes me, is that catching the Snitch only awards 30 points and DOES NOT end the match; you can potentially catch up to 3 Snitches per game-- though commonly you'll get up to two. But, to this end, unlike the original game, you don't HAVE to play the Seeker when the Snitch is in play-- you can continue playing any other position you want.
On the topic of Catchers, you no longer auto-aim towards a goal hoop when throwing the Quaffle. You have to manually aim and throw, which CAN lead to mis-throwing on ocassion, or outright missing the hoop.
There's also a lack of arenas and Special Moves, per the original game. There's only like 5 arenas, some of which have two or three 'season' skins (Summer, Winter, etc...), and Special Moves are basically out of the game entire (no more cool and characteristic cutscenes, unfortunately). But these are aesthetic, more than anything; if you don't much care, then it doesn't much matter.
One new addition mechanically is the Stats system. I'm not a huge fan of it, but also I can't really say I've *actually* seen any tangible improvements based on stat allocation, except in the case of being able to take more hits before being knocked out (both your team, and opponent team, members can be temporarily knocked out of the game if they take too many Bludgers or Tackles before being able to recover; this is another mechanical change/addition which I actually do like, personally).
So, if you can handle these mechanical/feature changes relative to the original 'Quidditch World Cup', then yes you'd very much-so enjoy this. The game can be frantic and tense on the higher difficulties, and unlike the original game as well I've had games I've lost and otherwise come "down to the wire" to win, which was exciting as all hell -- and satisfying especially in the case of winning the World Cup. Which, quick note about that: The World Cup is MUCH shorter this time around, consisting only of 6 matches, but there's also quite a few more teams to play AS *and* as a cool bonus your own team can wear the robes of whichever international and Tri-Wizard team(s) you play as. I welcome the shorter runtime; it was tedious to have to play upwards of 20 Matches in QWC to win the Cup PER TEAM with the ultimate goal to unlock Bulgaria of course-- since you play against every team twice; once in *their* home arena, and once in yours. In 'Champions' there's still a grind, particularly for a Steam Achievement, but the actual ability to (for example) sit down and knock out a World Cup run for a team in a night (let's say if you only have, like, an hour or so to play at best per night; 6 matches, matches lasting up to 5-6 minutes each, but *can* be won in about 3-4 if you're skilled) over several nights is feasible.
