What could have been so serious that a game of this size had to be closed on a Friday night?

Just noticed it too, thought it was just me.
No idea what they're doing, but an increase on XP would be marvelous, since so many people left because of it...

Maintenance for Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions has been lifted and you should be able to play/matchmake once again. We're continuing to conduct an investigation into the performance slowdown and will update when we have more information.We appreciate your patience and thankful for the swift reporting that came from the community to help us explore this issue. We'll continue to monitor the live operations of the game and make efforts to bolster against problems like this in the future.

Also, we have begun a rollout of rewards to everyone's account in the amount of 5000 XP and 50 Winged Keys that you may notice upon login/restart throughout the weekend.

lol we was all playing PVE and 1 game would award us with 5k season pass XP so they shut it down rapid

How do we receive this bonus reward? Ive logged into the game several times this weekend but have not received it.

It is added automatically to all players, there is no in-game mail inbox notification. The XP is specifically Season XP, so you'll simply notice that season progress changed on its own.

If you would like for someone to take a look to confirm, pause the game, and select "Report Issue", we can check your profile logs to confirm if it was received or not.
