Let's focus on the REAL issues instead of made up lies, please. Complaining about things that are entirely made up is not how you force producers to make better products, it only proves that the consumers are genuinely stupid enough to fall for and pay for anything.
It's always interesting to see how different people read things differently.
You have to read between the lines.
I can assure you that someone will get those "plans" inside of their thoughts pretty quickly.
That's not the issue people worry about though.
aaron's comment summed it up pretty well:
When WB shuts down the service, the entire game will be gone.
I agree with you. At some point this game is likely to turn into a free to play game with a battle pass and other micro transactions. I don't see how continued support would be possible long term otherwise. I have no problem with the initial cheap purchase price or the potential for them adding paid cosmetics later on. My only concern for the game right now is if it's fun. So far the pricing isn't close to as greedy as 90% of games coming out now days.
That's a fair concern with any live service game. I certainly hope that the game gets the support from fans and devs to continue for a long time. I know there are recent legal arguments and bills in support of stopping game devs from closing servers and ending games by blocking fans from continuing the online ablility through 3rd party servers. I'm fully in support of modders removing the DRM and hosting 3rd party servers for games that no longer have developer support in those situations.
Yeah same. I'm also in support of that. But i also already heard loopholes that will be used to counter a possible new law in regards to that.
Once a publisher closes the servers, they will immediately stop selling the game and deactivate every redeemable serial key, so that only the current playerbase is able to continue playing.. And since modders are only able to host new servers according to that law, obtaining a game not directly from the publisher is still illegal, and because of that the game can only lose players, and not gain players anymore.
We will see what happens. Let's just hope this game pops off like crazy,
