Can this be played offline?
Or is it another online only trash game that will shut down and become unplayable within a year?

It has Denuvo anti tamper, so you cannot play this game offline.

denuvo doesnt require an active internet connection at all times it simply requires you to connect via internet every now and then to verify you own the game

People who have weather that knocks internet out, people who live on farms, people who travel for work, people in rural towns, children with parents who don't want internet.

I could go on but you obviously haven't even put a second of thought into who might not have internet, so I'm not gonna further waste my time on you.
Do they sell glasses near where you live?

Well, first of all one of the tags shows "single player".

Second of all, "broadband connection" or "internet" is not in the minimum requirements.

So yes, I ask because the answer is not always clear cut when looking at the Steam store.

from the games own website https://www.quidditchchampions.com/en-us/faq

Does Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions require an internet connection?
Yes, Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions requires an internet connection to play.

Steam page also says you require an account on WB website so I'd say offline mode is out of the question.

In my opinion, it is more about preservation than not having internet available.

denuvo is exactly what it says, anti-tamper, its heavily used to prevent piracy, i don't see the problem.... do i think that it should at least allow the use of offline mode as long as you verified once during the day that you own the game, yes, yes i do, but i don't think denuvo is a bad idea, i'd want to prevent piracy of my created stuff as well...

As Lord Gabe Newell said: "Piracy is almost always a service problem and not a pricing problem." So no, Denuvo is garbage
This is an always online game.

Me with my Steam Deck. I bought one to play whenever I want without needs from online connection. I don't care, if it have single player mode, it should be played fully offline. I'm not paying for that, so gl with that garbo :)
