The problem with Quidditch

Ok, it's cool to watch in the movies. No denying that.

The problem though is that as a sport it doesn't make much sense.

Let's face it, It has been made by Rowling with one purpose in mind, for Harry to have something cool to do. To be even more "special". (in a good way)

The rules are silly and everything is made for the seeker (harry) to be pretty much the only player who matters.

And that, is precisely why there isn't more quidditch video games. Cause it doesn't make for good gameplay.

As someone who played the alpha playtest, it was a lot of fun.

And that's why the developers took some creative liberties, much like the developers for Hogwarts Legacy did. A game doesn't need to be an exact copy of how it was in the books.

By your logic then football (soccer) is silly having grown up men chasing around a plastic ball to make goal? Quidditch is far more unique in that sense if you compare these two sports and it make perfect sense to have is as a game.

But it is.

And he's right, the original concept of quidditch is not good for a game, that's why the developers had to take "creative liberties". Serious 1-to-1 simulator would not be fun and playable.

Glad to hear the devs did change some of the rules.Snitch did need a good point reduction. Op did have a good point also to add to it you can look up old interviews of Rowling saying she made up the rules and points in a way to piss off dudes like her boyfriend she was arguing with cause he was a die hard soccer fan. Though its around the same time she kept ret-coning or changing things and was getting hate for that so who can tell how true it actually is but does fit. Can't wait to see how the rules work though.

I would say that the rules that needed to be adjusted was adjusted to this videogame so I don't think there will be a problem with that, it will be enjoyable imo

i can't go into anything from the beta cause of NDA, but i can 100% tell you they did a fantastic job just balancing everything, all roles play a great part in the game and no role feels way to overlay op compared to the rest. Sorry that i can't say more.

I dunno what game you “testers” played but I played both Alpha and Beta versions and it’s not that great. Just another pay 2 play cash grab game with a battlepass. The fact that they dumbed the game down to make it an esports game is also laughable. This game will be dead in 6 months. Mark your calendars. Unbroken studios has the worst track record with games. Fractured Lands was a failed battle royal that didn’t even make it to launch and we all know what happened with SS kills the justice league.
