Reputation is unbalanced.
I have a huge drop in reputation because I don't have ALL the product in my market. Wish in return push people away from my market, and I end up losing a lot of money. And buying everything cost money too because people don't buy everything.
Reputation shouldn't be affect by that. That's sabotaging the game from the very beginning.

My reputation is 160 and there are a lot of items I never had and have no intention to ever get. You gotta be strategical and focus on what people like and makes good money (rice, tea, alcohol).

Yes reputation can crash - specially during festival if you don't have related items, but after a while it builds back.

Maybe drop prices for a while and that will bring back people and then buy the reputation items when you can afford them.

They love cheap product so build a strategy on an item you can get loads of and keep it super cheap all year long.
Double check if your shop is somehow dirty somewhere. Also check if some prices are too high in a new season! The price issue actually was my problem for reputation drops 100% of the time. Not having a vast different stock of goods does not lead to reputation drops for me at all.

The reputation drops greatly as soon as one product is empty. Like, if you don't have one of it, immediatly available, you have everyone saying they can find it the next second and the reputation drops by 1 point for each people.
At the end of a day, I had one product depleted, people complained and I went from 103 reputation to 84.

I am surprised to hear that. I do not have that issue. I am currently always around 100 - 108 Rep. I simply harvest and sell stuff and also supplement it a bit with importing some goods.

I had something similar happen when the Christmas event rolled around. I was sitting at 103 rep, then the next day, it dropped to 20 because I didn't have all the fancy Christmas goods in stock that everyone wanted to buy.

I wish the customers would come into the store and say something along the lines of "I wish (product) was sold here" instead of "I CANT FIND (PRODUCT)" when I clearly do not sell it
It's not a big deal to drop to 20, as it builds back the next time you get the product.

No need to pay much attention to what customers say, the majority of them will buy what you have decided to sell. I even stop reading their comment 40 hrs ago.

Are you sure you did not forget to lower prices of christmas goods?

The only time my reputation significantly shrank was when I forgot to lower prices!

Customers get severely pissed in new seasons, or after holidays if you dont adjust the prices down.
