Episode 3 - Alternatives yet to be uncovered...

First off, solid episode!

I have completed the game and am now re-playing the episode, but there are still 2 alternatives I have yet to uncover.

1) "I could have witnessed Napolean's resolution" (Face to Face chapter)
2) "I could have reviewed the conference results with Godoy" (Last chapter)

Has anyone figured out how these are triggered?

Hmm you're right, I checked my save and I realised it still got listed as alternate paths! Probably a bug!! Or probably it's because I chose to send Von Wollner away when I entered Peru's room.

I remember I could have used Diversion on him and he would reveal one of the keys of the Al Azif in Mortimer's study, but he would still remain in the room, and I would be unable to examine Peru, hence I did not go with this path.

And what happen if you examine Perú?

You get to search his pockets for an extra book (Questioning), and if you examine him with all 3 skills (Science, Vigilance, Psychology) you earn an extra trait which increases 2 skills (Psy and Questioning)

I've played through ep 3 twice now with holm and mortimer, both times i missed something about Napoleon secret in the conclave chapter. Any ideas what that is?

I can't seem to find the Piaggi's motive one in the face to face.

Have you read the manuscript in his room? It's on the table to the right of Napolean's room as you enter from the front door. You need to pay attention to the handwriting as well.

You can find Piaggi sitting outside Elizabeth's room after the 2nd conference.

I am also struggling with these alternate paths in Chapter 9 (Face to Face):

(1) I could have learned something from Al Azif
(2) I could have been a witness of Napoleon Bonaparte's resolution

There just seems to be no way to trigger these paths ...

However, when looking in the program file Loca_en_Main_0.cpk (in the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\The Council\Data\Packages), I see that these alternate paths resolve to the following texts when you have been able to trigger them somehow:

(1) I found out that Napoleon Bonaparte is firmly committed to supporting Lord Mortimer
(2) I found out that von Wöllner had fount Al Azif

Since this matches very well to the conversations with Napoleon (after he complained to the servant at the stairs) and von Wöllner (in his room or in Péru's room, depending on your choice of Mortimer vs. Holm), I suspect a bug in the game.

What are your thoughts on this?

Hmh, I got everything but finding out what happened to Peru. I cant enter his room right after he tries to shoot himself because a servant escorts me out. And if I go in there after I went to my room I find Woellner and can get the Al Azzif info, but I cant interact with Péru. He just sits there.

To do this, you need to choose the side of Mortimer, and join the confrontation with Wölner in the room of Peru.

We weren't talking about Al Azif, we were talking about analysing Peru. A can be easily seen from this.

I've played the game twice from 2 different save states. I can't be 100% sure but I think to get the 'Info from Al Azif', you have to side with Holm (at the side with Mortimer/Holm choice), go to Wollner's room as soon as you can in chapter 9, and Wollner will be there and you can talk about the Al Azif. I think you may also have to have succeeded in the Confrontation on Episode 2 when you talked to hm about the Al Azif there. If you both suceeded in that confrontation in Episode 2 and sided with Holm here, he tells you more info about the Al Azif, the sisters and your mother. If you sided with Mortimer he just dismisses you. It is an optional thing to go to his room at that point, the quest doesn't say to do it.

The Godoy "I could have reviewed the conference results with Godoy" (Last chapter) you just need to meet him by the fire in the main entrance hall and talk to him I think. However on one of my playthroughs he was there, on another he wasn't. Not sure exactly what triggers him being there or not. Possibly being on good terms with him (either siding with Holm, or siding with Mortimer but convincing him to change sides in the confrontation) - but I don't know for sure.

Not sure about the Napoleon "I could have witnessed Napolean's resolution" (Face to Face chapter) - I met him at the stairs too both times and had a different convo (one on Holm's side, one on Mortimer's side) and neither gave it as having happened - so maybe this one is a bug? Unless there is another occasion I missed meeting him in chapter 2?
