Concept is alright. Reminds me of Battleheart, an old android game. However characters lack uniqueness for today's game. Upgrades are kind of stupid. I mean, + lightning jump and freeze duration when my characters don't even do those? Lifesteal is so small too. And yeah I just hate directional aiming. And starter party limit of 2 is so limiting for a game which main point is building party. Maybe take a look at Stand Survivors and Flerp on how they build synergies in a party.

Lightning, freeze and poison work for all characters, try it and see.
I agree that characters should be more unique, barbarian and doggo serve pretty much the same purpose but doggo is worse and his shield ability is only temporary which is meh.

The idea itself is fun, with some polish it could be a really fun game.
