Get Blackarchons Mod: "SMACX Factions" for 14 additional Factions well suited to the setting of Pandora: First Contact

Since it is unlikely that there will be more official-patches, I think my inofficial-patches should also be considered a mod.

Installing instructions:

Rightclick "Pandora: First Contact" in your steam-library.
Click on "Properties".
Change to the "Local Files"-tab.
Click "Browse local files".
Doubleclick the folder "Binaries".
The folder you ended up in should be something along the lines of C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Pandora\Binaries.

Now copy all files from this archive into that Binaries-folder. Click "yes", when it prompts you to overwrite.

Edit: I just learned that there's another faction mod by someone called Secundus and it is merged with BlackArchon's Mod. I haven't tested it myself but I assume it's probably working. It can be downloaded here:

Both these mods are compatible with one another and work well in tandem.

Yes, as long as both players have the Mod installed, MP will work without any problems.
We actually play with that mod most of the time ourselves. :)

I highly recommed you get the Mod from Blackarchon as linked above and use it as an example for your modding endeavours.

It covers most of the things that are possible and should give you plenty of inspiration:
Factions, units, graphics, sound-files, a building and even an operation.

If you have any more specific questions don't hestitate to ask them. But please look at his mod first as I think it's great to learn stuff from.

Hi there,
please in which file are the map size settings, as with this mod the largest map is for sure too small and feels lilke the Metro in Tokyo :-)

Found it, with all Races and a 96x96 map and the special marathon exe for the game, it is unplayable :-)
The CPU needs too long for a turn on my rig ...
sad no epic settings are possible :-(

I'd suppose it's more a matter of the map size.
I have played a lot of games with 13 factions on a regular "Large"-map.

"C:\Users\<your_username>\AppData\Roaming\Proxy Studios\Pandora Beta"
(or "C:\Users\<your_username>\AppData\Roaming\Proxy Studios\Pandora" if you aren't using Pandora Beta)

What kind of factions are there? Any faction thats like the Germans? lol

No way man :-) It's the Alpha Centauri factions here. A nice mod - I still prefer the original settings though.

The mod is really nice though for having a game with more than 7 factions. But you have to know that some of the Alpha Centauri factions (caretakers and usurpers) are not that balanced as the original Pandora factions. They were not balanced in Alpha Centauri and the modder wanted to reflect this here as well. Cybernetics faction also is a bit stronger than the rest and some factions are weaker because they depend on the spying feature which got nerfed a lot lately.
