Also, does running
export LC_ALL="en_US.UTF-8"
in the console prior to starting Pandora help?
This sounds very dubious to me. The game is not letting me play without it. You don't even mention in the requirements that the gamer needs an activate internet connection for being able to play.
I think I will contact Valve about this to get my money back.
I'm sorry that you are having problems with the game. Unfortunately Runtime issues are not an error or a bug within the game that can be fixed in a patch/update. They are caused/generated by your Windows setup, for example from outdated drivers, interference from third party programs, security software, etc.
However, please contact us at Support[at]Slitherine[dot]co[dot]uk with the Game Logs and a DxDiag file, and we will try to resolve the issue.
How to get a DxDiag report file:
1. Click on "START" (on Windows 8 press “Windows key” and the “R” key at the same time)
2. Click "run" (skip this step on Windows 8)
3. Type in "dxdiag" and click "OK"
4. Check through the tabs and perform all tests
5. Click "Save all Information..." and save the text file to a location of your choice
6. Attach the file to your message
The log file written by the game is located in:
Windows Vista/7:
“C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Proxy Studios\Pandora\”
Windows XP:
“C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\Proxy Studios\Pandora\”
Is anyone else having similar problems?
Basically game disconnects in multiplayer after 5-6 turns, works perfect single player.
Occasional sound bug connectint to multiplayer.
Tried the selective start to disable all but essentials, no difference.
The sound bug is rare.
Checked firewall settings, even removed steam and pandora, then re-added to make sure all permissions.
Ran as admin, removed router out of loop to run direct to modem.
Any thoughts anyone? :)
