I notice the AI is making alot more tier 2 improvements in its cities than it used to.
Also once they have tier 2 of a weapon they never use tier 1 ever again.
Same seems to go for armor too.
overall its a definite improvment over the basic AI and i encourage anyone who is sick of how badly the AI is at the later stages of the game to try it out.
It's nice to hear that it makes the game more interesting for you!
I've edited the post I had linked in the first post, so the new file is there to download now.

though i just got done stealing 16000 science in one turn... i have to say its way rng heavy and kinda silly, but it's fun! lol
They plan to continue working on the expansion after it's release. AI improvements is one of the things they are looking to implement.
A thing that was mentioned in particular was adopting a system were the amount of already present buildings in a city influences where to build military-units.
This should do a similar thing to what the mod does: Ensuring not wasting ressources on crap-units in underdeveloped cities.
Also AI-Tax-management was mentioned and I believe this alone will drastically boost their capacities as buying becomes a major part of your total output later in the game and having roughly twice the credits than before (right now AI always runs 50% tax) will mean a huge boost.
Basically I launch the game, the launcher opens fine. I hit play pandora and the game gets a runtime error and crashes. I am on windows 7 use a i5 3570k with a 7850 AMD GPU.
Have you removed all the files from the old mod? It caused a crash with the files from the "Features" folder because it doesn't know the water-improvements.
Thanks again for all your help.
But in the background there is the old launcher. The new launcher is green and has "Eclipse of Nashira" written on it. Yours is still the old blue "First Contact" one.
So your problem might be unrelated to the Mod and instead be some installation issue.
To make sure go to your:
C:\Users\Swift\AppData\Roaming\Proxy Studios\Pandora\Data
folder and delete everything that's still in it.
Otherwise I'd suggest to do a complete reinstall of the game.
It really should show a green background in the launcher when you have Eclipse of Nashira.
If you are on the Beta-Branch where you have 1.6.4 you will have something way better than what this mod accomplished. If you are courageous and have windows but not Windows-XP you can also use my semi-inofficial patches.
Unless you don't have Eclipse of Nashira that is. What the mod did was making sure the AI builds higher tier units once they have researched them.
But if you really want to see what a decent 4x-AI looks like get the update!
