REVERT BACK TO OLD VERSION 1.10 (Temp)
Here are instrucitons to revert back to Rise of Nations 1.10, otherwise known as teh 2014 update, that we have all been playing on before yesterday. Skybox, and some players are going to keep testing and fixing 1.20 patch for a better playing experience for all of us. Ask questions if you dont understand.

quit rise of nations
then start/click on steam (Desktop app, not in file manager)
then on top left menu click games and view games library in the menu
then right click select rise of nations and click properties.
then go to the beta tab (far right tab)
select V1_10_old - 2014 version
If not there, remove the language flag in the codefield below or wait a bit eg. click in click out
then click the button to get the old patch back
and start the game *do not update

Keep looking at forums for updates on 1.20 patch. Skybox is fully invested and working long hours to make our game better. Be sure to thank them.

Also might be worth to re-validate your game files after doing so, will most likely get rid of the "Out of Sync" issues in MP, if all parties are playing on 1.10, proofed and tested with Vita ;)

People don't read or listen, so I had to repeat in all caps!
By saying "re-validate" he did mean the steam internal check of the game files integrity (rightclick the library entry->local files->validate game files button). As for me the help.xml and the unit_graphics.xml from the "data" subfolder got redownloaded, even if i NEVER EVER touched them, not even used them in any of local or workshop mods!

In Addition to that the rules.xml, techrules.xml and the unitrules.xml got redownloaded and replaced with EXACTLY the same versions (till the last bit the same ones!) as well.
As for Meensai, he only got a new help.xml. After revalidation our problem with the "game is out of sync in rules" vanished.

A new problem occured now: With the v1.10 we are able to use local game mods in singleplayer, but in the multiplayer they are not showing up in the dropdown menu for the host, uploading the mod to the workshop (wich works with the v1.10 just fine btw) and using the non local version seems to fix that.
