This. The remade Age of Mythology didn't seem to get as many good reviews and this one is great.

(Too late for more opinions, I'm sure, but whatever.)
This, for sure. While AoM is better when it comes to actually having a storyline, this game is much better for a prolonged gameplay experience (you can have really short sessions, or sessions that last many hours at a time, it's all up to you).

I have both and I prefer RoN over AoM. But my true love still is Age of Empires II: HD ;)

This, Much more to do than AOM, I got both as they are both great games and sometimes go real cheap on sale.

I both love Age of Mythology and Rise of Nations. If you prefer a more detailed campaign and a good story line, then get Age of Mythology. If you perfer more Conqure the World stuff campaigns then Rise of Nations. If you prefer a more mythologyical game with Godly Powers then Age of Mythology. If you prefer a more historic gameplay then Rise of Nations. When it comes to battles, then I say this is more detailed. Rigt now I prefer Rise of Nations. But I used to prefer Age of Mythology. :clementineelf:

I have always liked Age of Mythology, but I just discovered this and it looks much more complete. That might just be that it's new for me though.

AoM is a better all round game but, although I don't have RoN: EE yet the devs have probably done a better job as AoM: EE has lag problems with multiplayer (And, on lower end computers, single player). You can't go really wrong with either however.

I've played both. I prefer RON, but AOM is very different, just like AOE2 and SC/SC2. They're all very different games.

Having played Age of Mythology for twelve years and Rise of nations for slightly less time (played the demo before release), I personally prefer Rise of Nation by a slight. I really like how balanced the civlizations are, generally speaking, in RoN. AoM is similar, but I find it less appealing and deep.
