Now, I haven't been in ur game to see what went on, so I can't say what happened. But I got some tasks and questions for you to help you through this.
BUT.... now for each of those 5 games, view the REPLAYS of them. Then ( I'm very confident) you will see the seed number.
In conclusion, It is my belief that replays will show you the seed number during replay.... and depending on HOW you view the replay it will probably produce strange behavior (outside of our control). And I also believe that the seed number isn't shown during the actual game so that people couldn't take advantage of that during the game (because if you know the seed number, you could in theory have an upper advantage if you were smart enough to remember what it was)
I urge you to test this out ( as I will too) so we can not only no longer defame your opponent unjustly, but bring it to the attention of others in the game on this forum, to alert the developers, and to move forward with this knowledge to help others in this game for the future.
It never happens with some people I trust and it never happens I win for a game error.
It's not Skybox it some people using cheat and destroying the fun and get good protection. The opponent player ofcourse used a hidden script and its that.
I have a screenshot, replay and I played the game and you just believe without any evidence that its the developer. By the way sorry to ask you -are you pretending to be an admin/moderator or you have the capacity to forward it to them?
I've played Multiplayer on RoN since 2009, with an emphasis in Scenarios but I consider myself a universal player (not a "pro" in all styles, but I would non-pompously consider myself a universal RoN player). I've been involved in community development and clan leadership since 2010, created some large clans, and would say I've had a pretty great all around experience in this game (I'm starting to wind down since I'm a working man now, but I keep active on the meta side of things). I've not only been an leader, but an administrator on other sites (my name should pop up on RonHeaven if you get the chance, though I'm not a current active on the site, long story). Although I'm not a developer or admin on Steam, I've been in contact with people like Helen to express concerns of the community Directly to keep contact.
Being focused a lot in Scenarios, I've focused some time here in Script development, finding ways to make new interesting things for scripts and the game (not a modder though.) I will admit back in my younger and more vulnerable years, I tried to cheat (ps, this is all pre-steam and like 5 years ago). So I'm well versed In how to cheat, and seeing when people try to do it but fail due to a failsafe in the game or just being caught.
What I found is that the most basic and most effective (by a long standard) way to cheat is through a script that the victim willingly (yet perhaps deceivingly) downloads (as I mentioned above). It was much easier pre-Steam. Slightly harder now, yet by all means do-able. Though it would be publicly available on the Workshop.... so there's a huge publicity issue now. But it's really not that hard..... just name your script "no_nukes" and make yourself get 100000 recs and boom..... done deal.
This isn't how I assume your opponent acted, this is merely an example. The problem with this most basic method is that (and I blame the developers again), simple scripts (such as no_nukes) have now an EXTREMELY high rate of crashing a game 2 seconds into the game.
It's true there are more sophisticated ways to cheat sure.... but these methods are highly unstable with little guarantee if success.
But I'm speaking in generalities here.... let's get back to this problem.
You speak of attrition damage being unreasonably higher. Reading that you are familiar with the game dynamics, I won't remind you that tower techs will increase attrition. However, I ask were you at any time an age or 2 below your opponent? Little known fact: if you are even an age behind and try to attack your opponent unsupplied, you will actually face more damage through attrition.
From what I've seen on the print screen, I see no hacking present. If you sent me the replay, it could perhaps be damaged for reasons I explained in my first post here (meaning perhaps unreliable). I still implore you to follow my challenge in my first post here and see if there is a correlation with my assumptions there to definitively see if there is a correlation from my above assumptions.
However, the opponent in question has 1 friend in common with me, and that individual is very good at RoN. I would assume that your opponent probably might be better than you want to give him credit for.
I have no problem with my game just that particular game which was cheat I believe you guys know about these but try to pretend there's no cheating going on.
I raise this issue before but every time it gets burried or avoiided. Steam is not very helpful in stopping cheat game. It actually keeps me off from buying new games.
This. OP is full. of. sh!t.
BTW I have no idea how to cheat in this game or any others. I got better sh!t to do.
You said to give him credit for what? loosing capital? The tower that was half finished there you can see, my soldiers cannot destroy it and even my civilians were reparing the city. It was undestructable tower and my horses cannot even kill his two archers looks like they got way too much armor which is not normal.
and here is the tower the person succeded to build it even though I attacked both the tower and the civilians who was building it. You can see the two civilians walking away from the tower.
And in this screenshot your heavy infantry is not even attacking the tower; they aren't even next to it to be able to attack it in the first place. They are currently in the process of walking TO it.
Your horses also are 1) not horse archers, and 2) not close enough to stab his archers. Even if you did have horse archers, their counter is foot archers so they'd die anyway...
Last point: your economy management is TERRIBLE!
All that tells me is that he had more than 2 citizens building the tower while you attacked them and killed them off 1 by 1. They can still build if they're being attacked and he's micro managing them to keep building instead of running away. That's what I would do. Until they were all dead or the tower was done. It's all or nothing at that point, since the capital is lost.
I said before that the replay may or may not be 100% undamaged (through the work of the developers), so it may or may not give the actual events (I've had it happen before). It could very well be undamaged, just putting the out there (as Purest wants to see it)
But what I'm noticing from Salt is that he lost a game and is coming up with enabled excuses as to why.... I mean I've done it before when I was younger in order to compensate my ego.... I wasn't proud of it and I eventually apologized, but I understand where you would be coming from.
Now we have 3 good players here inspecting this game and we ourselves are being slandered as saying that we support cheating. I mean I can speak for everyone here that none of us supports cheating on any basis. And that's a level of respect that we should all carry upon ourselves in this thread.
Like I said, I've been playing since 2009, and Mike and Purest have been playing a good while too, so we're giving you our expert judgement,. For myself, I've SEEN cheating firsthand and have caught people with it. What I see here is not cheating. That's my expert opinion on this matter with what I've seen.
However, I still challenge you to follow my directions in my first post, to see for yourself in how the replays work here and the differences it might show. This will be the best testament into looking at this issue with a better perspective for the future.
And what I fear, Salt, is that you will grossly and wrongfully overgeneralize the RoN multiplayer community into being some sketchy place full of hackers, when that is not only far from the case, but outright offensive.
Again, we don't care if people win or lose, it's all a gg.... but when someone cheats, we will look into it as we have in this thread for you.... that's what Community is all about. But if someone is wrongly accused of cheating, we expect his name to be cleared.
Unless you can provide tangible proof (which has not been factually presented, i.e that "hidden script" you claimed), we in the community are right now looking at this as a fair game, not because of us "defending the principles of cheating", but through our expert analysis
USING SCRIPTS ISNT CHEATING EITHER.
ALSO, IN THE LOGICAL WAY, CHEATING WOULDNT TRIGGER ANY SORT OF NOTIFICATION (THATS JUST.. DUMB ASSUMPTION)..
IF THE GAME KNEW THAT IT IS THE CHEATING IT WOULD PREVENT IT.. SURE NOT WRITE "map seed"... YOUR LOGIC, NO OFFENSE IS REALLY TWISTED
I MEAN, YOU REALLY THINK THERE IS A GAME THAT WILL WRITE IN THE MIDDLE OF SCREEN.. "CHEATER CHEATER CHEATER" AND WONT PREVENT GAME FROM HAPPENING? lmao AT YOU!
