It is not compatible with the PC multiplayer.

We do not currently have plans to make a Mac version of Rise of Nations: Extended Edition at this time. However, note that some of our users have reported success playing on their Macs by installing Windows on a partition of their hard drive via Boot Camp, which comes with OS X. Other users have played via utilities like WINE, VM Ware, or Parallels, but keep in mind that those are not officially supported options.

It's still available for PowerPC and Intel x86/x64 Macs on DVD-ROM.
It's just not multiplayer compatible with the Steam version and a slightly earlier version where some nations are overpowered.

Okay then, thank you for the information. Hopefully they will make a Mac version soon. Me and my friends wanted to play using Mac.

I think the one they sell in Amazon isn't compatible with OSX 10.7 and above. Such a shame.. I really want to play this game again. I hope the steam Extended Edition is available for Mac too.

That is why I always enjoyed PC over the overpriced MAC. I will give MAC this, it's harder to get viruses (or it use to be, not sure about now) on a MAC. What you miss out on is a lot of games and compatibility for that though. I think they are starting to get more game friendly in recent years but not fully there. Maybe in time they will have a better version for you.
