There is a way you can set them to a higher value, so the game lasts longer.
Go to your Rise of Nations game directory. Its location may vary slightly based on your version of Windows or OS, but in my computer it was located in this folder: { C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Rise of Nations\conquest }
Then select the CTW that you want to modify. Find its .xml file for the CTW Map of its name. For example, the Cold War .xml file is called "CTW_Cold_War_Map_01.xml", and the standard Whole World .xml file is called "CTW_World_Map_01.xml"
Right click on the .xml file, and select "Open With". Make sure to use a plain-text editor to edit this (Notepad is the safest). You'll need to find an entry near the top of the code that reads a bit like the numbers below:
You can change these values as you like to give you greater time flexibility in the CTW campaigns.
If the CTW campaign has "set battles" (like the Korean War, for the Cold War), you can open up the setup.bhs file for that set battle. It'll look like "bayofpigssetup.bhs" for the Bay of Pigs battle, and so forth.
Open it up with Notepad and look for a "set_time_limit" entry, like "set_time_limit(40)".
Change the number to a high number to give yourself more time.
Depending on a variety of factors, it might not be practical to simply delete the "set_time_limit" entry... some CTW campaigns seem to default to a time limit of 90 if you do. It's possible to backtrack carefully through all the scripting to find out what causes it, but I have not done that yet.
All the campaign missions are time sensative, which for me sux. I don't need the stress of trying to complete it on time.
So thanx for the help.
But...I've had enough of games like this that just want to limit you thinking that it'll make it a better game.
