[Strategies/Newbie Help] Rise of Nations at Heavengames.

I just wanted to point this out to a lot of people who are new to Rise of Nations.

The website heavengames.com has been pretty much to go to place for Rise of Nations information for a long, long time. Most of the information is still very, very relevant for the Extended Edition. This includes strategies, and opening build orders, and so many FAQ and Tips/Tricks documents that I can't even list them all, but I'll post a few links to get you started.

If you need a reason to go check them out:

Did you know holding alt and right clicking on a building is a Siege Attack command?
It moves the siege units in to range while changing the formation of other units to surround and defend those siege units.

Did you know there are 6 combinations of ctrl, alt, and shift that all change how Drag Selection picks units?
Drag is Select All (can be changed in options to prefer military),
Ctrl+Drag is Prefer Military,
Alt+Drag is Prefer Military but filter out Siege Units,
Ctrl+Alt+Drag is Prefer Siege Units,
Alt+Shift+Drag is Prefer Aircraft,
Ctrl+Shift+Drag is Prefer Workers
Alt+Ctrl+Shift+Drag is Prefer Transports.

Did you know there is a hotkey that selects all of the damaged units in a current selection? It's default is Ctrl+HOME.

There are also about 15 other un-documented hotkeys and key combinations in the game. I don't even know them all.

This should get a lot of you started. Rise of Nations isn't an easy game. It has micro on the same levels as Starcraft does, and the macro is about 5 times more complex. (When in doubt, spam Heavy Cav; Command and Conquer Tank Rush has nothing on Rise of Nations.).
