Do i have a firewall problem or something or is there really 0 worldwide game ?

The game doesnt work for multiplayer.Everyone has the same problem. I created a game and cannot see it in the lobby. Waited for a long time and realized that everyohne had left and is not even using steam. They are using tangle beta and playing multiplayer through lan. Rise of Nations Extended Edition has been a big rip off.

THE ONLY WAY TO PLAY IT MULTIPLAYER RIGHT NOW IS BY USING TUNNGLE AND THE 10 YEAR OLD VERSION OF THE GAME AND PLAYING IT THROUGH LAN BUT NOT USING STEAM AT ALL.

you can play through TUNNGLE , Game ranger etc. There is people in tungle, but the only way to play with them is using the old version. I have tried using the new "extended" version and it doesnt work not even for these lan games.

IF TUNNGLE:

1. Download and install it.

2. Go to the system settings and check the box upnp enabled which will let you host a game. I also kept the sound muted for tunngle as it has a horible sound.

3.So install and run Tunngle. In the search box of tunngle type rise of nations you will see the game lobby there. Please choose rise of nations : thrones and patriots and Click it.

Remember at the right bottom corner of the tunngle there is a face if it is green you can host or join all games, if it is yellow you can do most of the things but if it is red you cannot join or host. Also, your virtual ip is shown at the left bottom corner.

4. With your old version of RON go to RISE OF NATIONS game menu and choose Local area network instead of Gamespy internet match making.

5. There are options like join ip, create,observe ip etc. In this window games appear at the top if someone hosting. you can click a hosted game to join or You can join an ip if your friends tell you the IP address of the game they are hosting, you can host a game by clicking the create button.

But i just don't have the old version ... Argh i did buy the new version to play it online.. I really got scammed ha.

You can buy the old version online and play using tunngle although the experience is not the same as when Gamespy was on, at least, you will be able to play mutiplayer online.

I dont think that steam is the problem. I think that the game was not well designed and the software is not working for multiplayer. I thnk you and I and many others got ripped off.
