Multiplayer completely broken
Well, that's it boys. After 6 tremendous hours of trying to play, I give up. This really sucks. I was hoping for smooth multiplaying experience, something that you should expect from a re-released copy costing €20. But no, it was to difficult for Skybox to handle.

@Skybox, thanks for releasing old games, I really liked the originals, but the amount of bugs you guys put into these games takes out all the fun. I suggest you people do more testing before releasing. Next time I will no longer pre-order from this company.

Can you please tell us exactly what is happening so I can help you fix it? We tested multiplayer across all manner of devices (one of which could barely run the game itself) but of course we can't account for every single PC everywhere. Please tell me what is happening so I can help you fix it- that's one of the reasons why I'm here.

I have been having issues with multiplayer as well -- have not been able to finish a game yet :-( -- connection issues seem to be most of the problem. Also there seems to be some bugs in the lobby, at one point I was so bugged I would join a room and I could see text chat but no names would show in the user list and my text would not appear.

I also believe therere is a bug where the no nuke script causes lobby to crash on launch of game.

When you get disconnected VIA "loss of internet" you are then unable to quit the match or even quit the game. This then must be forced quit to close the game in order to join a new game.

Also when you launch game it does not save "play in windowed mode" setting from time to time. This setting will save about 50% of the time. When playing in full screen the second monitor will go black, so playing in windowed mode is ideal. Hope to have these fixed soon thanks! Would love to get into some multiplayer matches.

I am running on win 7 64 bit
i7 4790
AMD Sapphire 7950
16gb ram

Oke, these are the things I encounter. Thanks for replying so quickly:

1) Once the game starts the game loads but remains in the loading screen and won't start the match. Eventually I have to close my game through the tasmanager because it stops responding. Had that a few times this day. Very annoying.

2) Multiplayer lists almost no games, although I checked "world" and "far", although Steam says there are around 2000 people playing this game, I can only see 2- 4 games. Other people complain having the same issues while other can see 20+ games. This is narrowing my search results and possible matches.

3) "Host disconnected". I had this alot of times in a row with different other users. Lobby was full, people got ready and the host started the game. Once the timer hit 1 seconds the lobby crashed and I was back in the game browser.

Okay, I've logged the multiplayer hanging bug so the team can investigate. I also know we're looking into what's going on with the lobbies as this was a bug that we found during our test but it's a tricky one to pin down. The host disconnected one I have not seen and am wondering if this has to do with possible ping issues between the host and someone connected. I'll see if I can repro this myself as well but any further information you can give regarding it such as who else was in the game with you and their locations (if you know them) would be great. :)
Medina Jun 14, 2014 @ 2:48pm
As soon as I get to have another crash I will report back.
Mystic Zealot Jun 14, 2014 @ 10:47pm
I didnt read anything in here.... what i did experience is that the "no_nukes" script on multiplayer WITH other HUMAN players crashes my client and their as well.
Medina Jun 15, 2014 @ 1:12am
For 3) it is really hard to determine what causes it. Ping *could* be the variable causing it but we can't be sure because I can not see the ping of the host and other players. A strange function to leave out. Although fysical location is a indicator, it is not sufficient
to say that games worldwide would always result in high ping.

4) Issue that I have with some specific friends (come on, do we still need port forward?). "Unable to join staging room". Why this is happening is beyond me. So after 6 hours of playing I am not really able to do what I would have wanted and this is not a smooth experience. I am really sad about this because I had good faith that the game would work at least 90% of the time.

Another issue 5) Game out of Sync. It just happened to me and I am sure it will happen again.
Rambi_from_hell Jun 15, 2014 @ 4:27am
Same here. Multiplayer worked well the first round, was going slow the second round, and now not working at all ...
Gecinyuszi Jun 15, 2014 @ 6:06am
Multiplayer is still broken like ♥♥♥♥. Game browser not working at all as mentioned earlier. Opened all ports and still cannot connect to my friend via P2P local hosting.

Same here with that too. Really dissapointing.

Okay so, we opened ALL ports and disabled firewall and actually i managed to connect to my friend IP. Upon doing some research with TCP view It seems that the game opens random port every time. So basically putting your PC to DMZ is the only way at this point.

This only worked for connecting to a provate IP. The lobby to browse available games, still not working.
