Grid Hotkey System + Zoom in Level

I was just wondering if there is an option to change all your hotkeys into a grid based system, which is pretty standard for most of the currently popular real time strategie games.

I also would like to know if you could lock your zoom-in level, for example you start a game with the most zoomed in level, but i would like to have it set to a more zoomed-out option. This wouldnt be much of a problem if there wasnt that annoyance, of the screen automatically zooming in, if you press the previously set hotkey for a unit you are selecting at the moment. So for example if I set my scout onto the hotkey 2 and i press it twice, my screen switches to the scout. But if I accidentally press it 3 times it not only switches me to the scout but it also fully zoomes in on him. This makes it pretty annoying to play at a fast paste because you often press they hotkey multiple times if you are in a hurry to multitask all the things that are going on.You then have to adjust it again which pretty much pisses me off to do it almost every time I try to play with hotkeys.

There is no grid option, and setting it up that way doesn't quite work. I've got a left handed hotkey setup that I'll post when I get some time.
