Units wandering into enemy territory

I just wanted to know what the best strategy is to keep your units from following enemies deep into their territory and taking attrition. Is there a way to set unit stance to aggressive/defensive?Or maybe just require that the unit stay within range of the nearest supply truck? Thanks

Go to Options

Turn on "Advanced Options"

When your in-game, your units will have a bunch more options in the bottom left-hand corner, so you can even set the stance to "Defensive" at that point.

Also, if you want your units to move per supply wagon, you can select all your units (even the supply wagon), and right click the supply wagon. Then move the wagon, and your units will follow. Kinda dangerous to do this with a supply wagon, though.... but whatev.

"Defensive" stance only means the unit will pursue enemy for a shorter distance. The best way to keep your units organized is by using "Stand ground" stance while not engaged in combat, and changing it manually to aggressive while attacking, defensive while defending a rare/woodcutters/mines, raid mode while raiding, etc. HOLD stance can also be particularly useful in certain situations.
